Bellatrix gaped but did not cast her usual jinx at anyone who hit her when Meggy swung the bag at her. Bellatrix didn't react straight away because she was honestly a little scared of the Ancient Runes Professor. Instead, she collected her things and chased after Meggy at a jog. She chased the Ravenclaw girl outside the classroom. "Hey, Gaunt. Wait." Bellatrix was desperate to learn Ancient Runes. Her parents wanted her to learn the subject. But Bellatrix had very little drive to do it.
When Bellatrix caught Meggy, she grabbed her cousin's shoulder and spun her violently. "I should hex you for hitting me, you know? That wasn't very nice." Bellatrix didn't look as though she would hex Meggy though. In fact, she seemed to be enjoying herself. Bellatrix thrust the quill at Meggy. "Professor's right. I wont need that."

Morgana stepped straight out of class and started hurrying down the corridor. Before long, she heard Bellatrix calling her. Meggy cringed and turned slightly around, but did not halt. She soon felt a strong hand clutching her arm. Although she was not yet facing Bellatrix, she knew it was her who was spinning her around. Morgana shrugged her cousin off her and folded her arms over her chest. "I did not do it on purpose," she said with a raised eye brow. Meggy juggled to catch her quill and shrugged at Bella's next words. Not wanting to linger by her cousin's side more than necessarily, Morgana started backing away from Bellatrix. "I have a class," she tried explaining.

Bellatrix sighed with annoyance at Morgana's attempt at avoidance. She strained to keep annoyance out of her voice as she argued, "I'm not going to hurt you, honest. And we all have classes. You are not special!" Trixie threw her dark hair out of her face and it changed to a brighter red color because of a spell she murmured quietly. If anyone was unique, it was Trixie not Meggy. "I'm sorry. It's just that my da.. I mean father." Trixie looked about fearfully as though talking about him might summon him. "He will get angry if I fail Ancient Runes. I don't know a thing about it. Could you teach me some stuff?" Bellatrix had wanted to be friends with the girl that lived with her rightful parents, but was a bit frightened she might let something slip. Bellatrix wanted to know what her real parents were like. She thought they must be nicer than hers judging by Morgana's demeanor. "Will you help me, please?" Trixie followed Morgana slowly as the Ravenclaw stepped away.

You are not special... those four words stung her like a slap. Meggy had never thought of herself special, but hearing it from Bellatrix made her feel like she was nothing. Morgana braced her arms around her body and stared down at the ground. Her mother's words rang in her ears; no pouting or sulking. Morgana raised her head and squared her shoulders. She raised an eye brow at Bellatrix's request. She tried her best to keep a poker face. The prospect of helping Bellatrix was intriguing... maybe they could even be friends? Morgana turned her head slightly to the side and smiled at Bellatrix. "I will help you," she stated.

Bellatrix grinned and leaped forward at Morgana. She hugged her cousin tightly. Trixie didn't have to turn to an older Slytherin for help now and could keep her pride among that crowd. She could also probably meet her real mom and dad and if she used Morgana's teachings wisely escape a thrashing from her adoptive father. The usually bad-tempered Slytherin was overcome with joy. She even forgot that Morgana had hit her after that class. "Thank you so much!"
Bellatrix broke her embrace and backed away from Morgana. She looked around, no other Slytherin seemed to be present. "What class do you have next? I could walk you, keep you safe from other Slytherins and Peeves." Trixie did not actually know a thing about controlling Peeves, but she was not about to miss a chance to impress a new friend. "Call me Trixie, all my friends do." Bellatrix grinned, leaving out the fact that her only friend was a boy attending Durmstrang that she had never met in person.

Morgana's eyes widened when Bellatrix lunged herself at her. The next thing she knows, her cousin was hugging her tightly. Meggy found herself unsure what to do, in the end she gave the Slytherin a small pat on her back. "You... are welcome," Meggy replied uncertainly. She heaved a small sigh when Bellatrix broke the embrace; being not used to the Black's expression of gratitude, Meggy felt -to say the least- shocked. Her expression softened at Bellatrix's next words. No one had ever offered her protection. Meggy smiled and said, "History of Magic. Thank you. I appreciate." Her smile widened. She gave a nod and said, "I will. And you can call me Meggy."

Bellatrix's joy disappeared when she came to realize she would still have to work to pass Ancient Runes. Despite that, she was still excited about possibly meeting her real parents. She was not hostile toward Morgana, but could not smile much more. "History? Boring. I have a break. Want to skip class and sneak around to watch older students kissing?" Bellatrix smirked. She found lovers highly amusing and somewhat attractive. Though she never had anyone's love but her false mother's. But the lady was incompetent and unworthy. Bellatrix knew her father was almost constantly annoyed with his wife's eccentricity. But his intolerance only made him more deplorable in her opinion. Though she would not admit that openly. "Meggy." Bellatrix nearly grinned, wondering if that was what people would have called her. Did she look like a 'Meggy?'

The Ravenclaw looked at her cousin uncertainly. She felt a sudden burst of excitement at the thought of skipping class. Morgana had never done it, and she knew her mother would not be happy about that. Meggy took a deep breath and started biting her lower lip. She looked around herself nervously and then nodded. "But we need to go now. The professor always comes down this corridor," she said hurriedly. Morgana grinned when Bellatrix called her Meggy. It always felt nice having a name of her own. Morgana was her mother's and she did not mind sharing it... on the contrary it made her proud.

Bellatrix wondered if Morgana meant the History professor or a different one. She didn't really care. But it seemed like an obvious thing to ponder. Bellatrix took Morgana's hand and led her to the side. Bellatrix pushed on the wall at a point just above her head a few times as she moved along the wall of the corridor. Trixie finally found what she was looking for and grinned. She tapped her wand on the brick and the solid wall suddenly began to open in front of them.
"Come, Meggy!" Trixie turned to face Meggy as she backed into the secret passageway. An older Slytherin boy suddenly came striding out of the secret way, he bumped into Bellatrix and made her fall on her face. Trixie cried out in surprise and pain. Bellatrix held her arm as she sat up. Her arm was bleeding from a cut. Trixie looked in the older student's direction. He was carrying a bloody knife. She wondered if that was all her blood. It couldn't have been. The knife was dripping blood all over the ground. Bellatrix's cut wasn't nearly as bad.
Bellatrix forced her tears back and wiped her face remembering that her new friend was watching. "You'll see alot of him in secret passages. I wonder what he's been killing today." Trixie had never spoke to him because he always fled when he was discovered in his secret places. Trixie frowned at her arm, hoping the knife wasn't covered in dirty blood. She'd hate to be infected with something.

Meggy watched Bellatrix curiously. Although she was not sure what her cousin was doing, Morgana had the feeling she was looking for a secret passageway. She glanced around herself, feeling the excitement build up and stepped closer towards Bellatrix. Meggy watched Trixie disappear inside the passageway and was about to follow when an older boy with a knife ran straight at her.
The Ravenclaw pressed herself against the wall, which enable the Slytherin to continue on his way. Meggy hurried towards Bellatrix and took her cousin's arm in her hands. "I will fix you up," she said soothingly while reaching for her own wand. She looked up at Trixie and said, "A friend taught me this spell. It is very useful for minor injuries."
Meggy continued chatting with Trixie in order to distract her from the discomfort of the spell. She released Bellatrix's hand and stepped away from the girl. She turned to look behind her and said softly, "I don't think I will like these passageways much." Meggy tightened her grip on her wand, as the wall closed behind the two girls. She gulped loudly and lighted the tip of her wand.

Theodore heard the annoyingly cute voices of the two girls through the wall. He expected them to pass by but they opened the secret passage just as he plunged the knife into flask full of dragon blood. Nero had a small, pewter cauldron over one of the passages ever-burning candles. It wasn't a great heat source but he goaded it along with a spell every once in awhile. Theo used the blade of the knife to cut a stalk of rhubarb off into the potion. He then kicked over the cauldron and fled through the opening the girl's made in the wall. He felt himself collide with one and turned with the force of the girl. Theodore turned around and stepped backwards, he recognized Bellatrix as a rather annoying girl who made a greater effort than Peeves to bother people and Morgana Gaunt. Theodore smiled at her then stuck out his tongue at her. He saw that he had actually cut Bellatrix and turned and fled off down the corridor.

Trixie shrugged when Meggy offered to heal her. She didn't think it was too serious, though the boy had cut her robe. Trixie smiled anyway when Meggy took her wand out. Trixie winced slightly at the feeling the spell caused. She looked down the passageway, it only went for five or six meters before it dropped into a stair. Trixie didn't much like staircases. She had had a terrible accident on the moving staircases and had hated them ever since. Though that was actually part of the reason why she started searching out these secret passages. She didn't want to fall off those stupid stairs again.
Trixie shrugged. "He'd probably kill us if he thought we were going to follow him. We better keep going this way." Bellatrix lied, she simply didn't want to leave. "You'll get used to it, promise." Trixie grinned at Meggy and took the Ravenclaw's hand in hers. "I can keep you safe. Like I said." Bellatrix began to advance toward the stairs. She wondered if anyone else would be further down. She'd also forgot where the passage would take them. Though she didn't think she should tell Meggy that.

Morgana recognised the boy as Theodore Nott. She had always thought of him as weird. Her confirmation was his smile soon followed by him sticking out her tongue at her. Meggy gave a small shrug and hurried towards Bellatrix. Noticing her cousin wince, Meggy looked at her apologetically. "There all done," she said with a smile. Morgana gulped and clutched Trixie's newly healed hand looking scared. She glanced over her shoulder and gave Bellatrix a small nod. Meggy took a deep breath and whispered, "I trust you."

Trixie took Meggy's arm in hers and pulled the Ravenclaw further into the cramped passage. She was grinning. "Did you know that we have the same grandmother?" Bellatrix loved her grandma. They were very close. "She taught me stuff before I got to school. But she likes your sister more." It was something that had annoyed her from her early years. Meggy's older sister was always at their grandmother's house. She was now aware that the girl she envied was actually her big sister and not her cousin, because of the stupidity of her own father. "She really hates your mom, you know. It's almost sad." Bellatrix shrugged. "Grown ups are stupid anyway."

Morgana looked startled when Bellatrix reached for her arm. The young Ravenclaw stumbled forwards, trotting after her cousin. She giggled softly at the question and said, "Yes i know." The smile disappeared from her face at Trixie's next words. Meggy now realised that she did not know her grandmother at all. The girl found herself feeling jealous of Bellatrix, but soon reminded herself that her loyalty was to her mother. Meggy made a face and shrugged off Trixie's words. She could not understand why anyone would hate her mother. Despite herself, Morgana let out a laugh. "Most of them are," she replied.
