Lars just nodded and smiled when Amelie told him that she would inform the girl about his upcoming project. “Well, I am looking forward to working with her. I’m sure we’ll get along together,” he said, chuckling. He was the type who actually recognized his weakness, and tried hard to supplement it with his strengths. However, he felt like there was something was up. “Well, I would like to ask something though. What House did she come from and what year? Maybe I may have encountered her at some point,” he then asked, apparently curious.
The moment he locked eyes with her, he realized that he was definitely going in for a rough time of sermons and chastising. He immediately knew that he crossed the line when he uttered those words. How dare he even say those things? When he heard what she had to say about Adrian having a fixed wedding, he could not help but lower his gaze in shame. Apparently, he was the one who jumped into conclusions…and even made his own assumptions in the process, not thinking whether he was already stepping down on someone’s feelings. He realized that he really managed to hit a nerve on her, seeing her facial expression. He did not realize that he was not thinking straight and that he ended up hurting people with his words. However, what actually made him almost slump his head on the table in utter shame was the fact that he unconsciously used this horrible habit of his to actually hurt his beloved mystery girl’s feelings. Now, he understood why all this time, he was unable to maintain lasting friendships and almost ruined a potential lasting relationship…it was his fault all along.
He sat on his seat; his head slumped on the table in utter silence for a few minutes before he managed to speak in a garbled voice. “I understand now…it’s my fault all along. I was being tactless…I do not think twice on what I am supposed to say and I just rant on and on without realizing I already stepped on someone’s feelings,” he said rather weakly, as his head was still slumped on the table. “And apparently because I was washed away by my feelings of anger and resentment, I managed to point my finger on a guy who actually had good intentions without realizing that four of my other fingers were actually pointing at me. I am nothing but a failure, a no-good selfish person who hasn’t spared a thought of other people’s feelings,” he then added, as he could feel himself sweat from nervousness and guilt. Finally, he then managed to lift his head off the table and locked his gaze with hers. “I’m really sorry for everything, Amelie. I wasn’t thinking about your feelings earlier. Anyway, when the watch gets here, you can burn it if you want, right in front of me, honestly, I won’t mind at all,” he said, very apologetically, his eyes pleading for forgiveness.
(OOC: these words Lars uttered also reflect my feelings too.)
