Zachary sat bored, in the back of the Three Broomsticks, he lifted the glass of Butterbeer to take a sip and held it in front of himself for a moment as if he was admiring it. He ran a hand through his quite long messy hair. He seriously needed to think about getting it cut. He took another long sip of his drink before placing it back on the table. He sat back in the chair he was in, sitting quietly in his thoughts. He leant forwards, leaning an elbow on the table, resting his head in his palm, he tapped a quiet rhythm on the table with his free hand. He looked around, stil bored. He watched the random drunks, the stressed workers, the couples having a quiet drink. There was a whole variety of people.

Starr was never bored. She always found ways to keep herself occupied. However, there was something about that day that made her lazy. She had been lying in bed for six hours, her head busy thinking the most random thoughts while the rest of her did nothing. It was only moments ago that she decided to put an end to her laziness, and now she was about to step in to an infamous pub, the Three Broomsticks. As the door charm announced her arrival, her eyes scanned the place only to find out how packed it was. Fortunately, from where she was standing, she could make out a vacant seat across a man whose face she could not see for he had his back to her. “Excuse me. Is this seat taken?” Starr asked absently, gesturing toward the vacant seat, and not realizing she was talking to a schoolmate.

Zac looked up, in the direction of the girls voice, whom had just spoke, she didn't look any older than 17. "Hmm" he started, then registered what she'd asked. "Oh no. Its free, if you want to sit" he gestured for her to sit. He finished off the remaining butterbeer in his glass and asked. "Want a drink?" before standing, and waiting for her answer. He loosened the tie around his neck, leaving him feeling more casual. The first two buttons of his white shirt were undone, but it was still tucked into his trousers.

When Starr’s eyes landed on his face the second after she asked the question, she felt her heart stop. He was incredibly good looking, the type that made girls stop and stare. When she was by the door, she thought he was at least above twenty five. But, now, looking at him more closely, she realized he could not be much older than her. His voice brought her back to reality. “Thanks.” She said softly as she pulled out the chair and helped herself. “I would love to have one.” She said, trying to sound as casual as she could and trying very hard not to stare at him... too much. What is wrong with you? Get a grip! She chastised herself, surprised at her weird behaviour. “You are leaving already?” She asked automatically, upon seeing him stand. Starr then noticed that a part of his muscular chest was exposed and she looked away, cursing herself for staring at a stranger’s chest.

Zachary grinned at her, "Its no problem". He looked at her for a moment "Oh I almost forgot" he started "Whats your name?" he asked politely, he tucked a stray hair behind his ear. "What would you like, Butterbeer, Pumpkin Juice, Gillywater, etc?" he asked, whilst pulling out a small money bag, and checking how much money he had left. Good, I've got enough money for a few more drinks he thought, it would have been terribly embarrassing if he'd asked her if she'd like a drink then not have enough money left. Zachary laughed "No, I'm not.. well only to get the drinks" he grinned, and fiddled with the small bag in his hands.

“It’s Starr. My name is Starr. And you are?” She inquired, her tone tinged with curiosity. Starr then took her white handkerchief out of her small dark green handbag that matched her elegant butterfly-sleeved dress, which was two tones lighter, and pressed it to her lips gingerly before turning to face him again. She did it to hide a part of her face, lessening the probability of him reading her facial expression. Up to that moment, she was quite surprised that she stared at him like that. Normally, boys stared at girls, at her, not the other way around. Removing the hankie, she smiled at him before saying butterbeer and thanking him.

"Starr, thats pretty. Its quite unusual though, is it a nickname?" he asked, then replied to her question. "I'm Zachary, but I prefer Zac", he gazed at her for a few moments before leaving. She was quite pretty, he pushed his way through the crowds, and leaned on the bar for a few moments before the barmaid came over and asked him what he wanted, he told her their orders, placed the correct amount of money on the counter. Then picked the drinks up and walked back to the table. "Here your drink" he said cheerfully. He sat back down, and leaned back into the chair. "So.. Starr, do you go to Hogwarts?" he asked, she looked like she was 16, maybe 17. So he guessed, seeing as she was here she must be a witch.

“I get that comment a lot.” She smiled at him, fighting the urge to say: No. It’s not even my name. I’m really Selena Law… but you can’t know that. No one can. “Starr is my first name and fortunately or unfortunately, I still don’t know which to pick, I don’t have any other names.” She finished, nodded and smiled at the mention of his name. Zachary. Zac. She repeated in her mind, not wanting to forget. “Thank you so much.” She said just as cheefully as she accepted the drink. She was already liking his personality, in a way. He seemed like a gentleman and he was cheerful. Starr could not recall the last time she mingled with a cheerful person. “Yes. I’m in my sixth year, actually.” She regarded him for a while before saying. “How about you? I don’t think I’ve seen you before but you do look quite familiar.” Starr shifted on her chair and waited for his response.

Zac listened to her, and nodded slightly, "It is a pretty name, I'd say your quite fortunate, my siblings have very normal names, sometimes its nice to have an unusual name" he smiled at her. "Its not a problem, seemed like a nice thing to do" he said with a shrug. He took a sip of his drink, Sixth year, he thought, she was in the year below him "I am in my seventh year" he replied. "We're probably in a class together, or something. I think we are both in the History of Magic class.." he replied thoughtfully. "I believe you look quite familiar to me aswell" he fiddled with one side of his shirts collar. "What house are you in then?" he asked, if she was in Gryffindor he would have recognised her pretty much straight away, he liked to think he knew - or knew of - most of Gryffindor.

Starr nodded at his words. “True. Unusual names are easier to remember and… it’s good that not a lot of people have my name. It’s nice to be unique.” Starr smiled and took a sip of butterbeer. So, he bought her a drink just because he thought it was a nice thing to do? Starr found him quite unusual… in a good way. “History of Magic? Yes… I think a remember someone named Zac there.” She slowly answered, obviously recalling her classmates in HoM. “So, you’re in your last year. What do you intend to do after graduation? Any dream jobs?” She added, curious. Upon hearing his question, she found herself wondering which house he was in. “Slytherin.” Starr replied simply. “And you’re in Hufflepuff?” She half-asked, half-stated.

"It does sound very easy to remember, having the same name as a lot of people is annoying, it gets terribly confusing to hear your name called when they arent calling you" he rubbed the back of his neck with his hand, he thought over her question for a moment. "I actually don't know" he said "I hadn't really thought about it. I'd guess I'd like to be a Broom Maker or a Magizoologist." he said thoughtfully, he hadn't really given any thought to what he wanted to be, he seriously needed to start thinking about it, but he didn't really want to. Slytherin he bit his tongue quickly, Zachary wasnt very polite about slytherins, but he realised that not all people should be judged by the stereotype they fell under, so refrained from saying anything that might offend, plus if you had nothing nice to say, then you shouldn't say anything at all. "I'm not in Hufflepuff, I'm in Gryffindor" he replied to her question.

His response made her smile and nod. “My friends whose names aren’t as unique as mine often complained about that.” She regarded him for a while as he spoke. The truth was, she wanted to hear all about his plans for the future just to be inspired to plan herself. Maybe even get an idea from his plan. “Broom Making, I have to admit despite the fact that I know nothing about it, is an interesting field of interest.” She commented sincerely. Having always hated animals, she chose to keep her thoughts on magizoology to herself. Gryffindor. Starr had nothing against Gryffindor except for the fact that most of them were annoyingly self-righteous and their bravery to the point of stupidity… she wasn’t that trait’s biggest fan. “Sorry for the wrong guess.” She said just to break the deafening silence before busying herself by slowly drinking from her mug.

Zachary grinned, he knew all to well, just how annoying it was to turn around at the sound of your name then realise the 'caller' wasn't calling you. "I don't really know much about it, it just - as you said - sounds interesting, plus I enjoy flying so, I think I'd enjoy the job" he gave a small shrug."What do you plan to do after school, have you given it any thought? I know I didn't give it any thought till recently" he asked. Zachary smiled a little uneasily "It's no biggie" he shrugged slightly. The only house Zac didn't really like was Slytherin, but even then he only disliked the ones that followed the stereotype. He usually tried to keep stereotypical views to himself, as most stereotypes were not good.

It has been a while since she found herself appreciating something as little as her fake name and unconsciously it made her smile. Despite the absent minded smile, the way her gaze was focused on his face as he talked showed that she was paying attention to him and his words. “Flying. I never really had a chance to fly on a broomstick. I had health problems when I was younger. It was so bad that my father requested that I be exempted in Flying class.” She looked melancholic for a while as she thought of her fake father, Nathaniel Gnael. She loved him more than her real father… and mother. “I’d love to try riding one though… But I guess I would have to learn how to do it first.” She added with a small smile. Starr forced a smile when he shrugged. The truth was, Starr was starting to get annoyed at how Gryffindors act when they learned she was a Slytherin student but she kept her thoughts to herself.

Zachary smiled back at Starr, thinking to himself that she was prettier when she smiled. "Never?" he asked, his eyes wide, he could understand why, but it shocked him a little when ever someone would say they had never even tried to fly a broomstick. "Thats too bad, I always enjoyed flying - still do, I thought it was a... escape" he paused at the end of his statement trying to pick the right word. He listened to what she said next, and an idea instantly came to him. "Well, if you wanted, I could teach you. Thats only if you want me to" he said quickly, Zac fiddled with his fingers, playing with the family ring that was on his right ring finger, he felt bad for reacting weirdly when she said she was a slytherin, because she seemed alright. He didn't know what to say. Should he apoligise? Or just ignore it. He thought it over for a few moments. Still not coming to a desicion he dropped it for the moment.
