Ambrosia stared at the list of students she would be expecting this afternoon and used her wand to eliminate all the other desks besides those that would be needed. She knew children hated being close together, But it was then that they paid better attention. With a smile she then unlocked the classroom door and sat back in her chair monkeying with her papers as she waited for students, text books flying to land in front of each available seat.

Lars found himself in front of the door leading to his Muggle Studies class. He knew he had to take it since he was curious about how muggles live and how they could manage without magic. Although he sometimes had to act like one for business reasons, he needed more information.
He opened the door and saw that the desks were already arranged although there were no students yet. He saw the supposed professor Professor Burkette on her desk, fumbling with papers. He greeted her good day and he then chose the seat with a good view of the board, and sat down waiting for the other students.

Helena hoped she was on time for class. It was not really on her schedule since she was not supposed to be taking it. The teachers posted the registration forms last week and she did not sign up. Muggles were fascinating. Sure… But, they were murderers. They burned witches and wizards in cold blood everyday and Helena just did not feel like discussing such nasty murdering creatures in class. Still not knowing why she suddenly wanted to take the class, she found herself walking over the teacher’s table. She had been hoping she would not bring her list of students with her but there it was, on the table. She took a deep breath and finally approached the professor.
The professor looked young, beautiful and smart. She gave her a small smile. “Professor, I failed to sign up for your class last week and I’m just wondering if you can still accommodate me in your class?” She asked politely. “I find it hard to understand muggles. I would really appreciate it if you took me in.” She added in all honesty. Her own words answered her question. Ever since she knew of their existence, she never understood them. She wanted to take the class to fully understand muggles. [/blockquote]

Lily walked into the Muggle Studies classroom with a small amused smile on her face. She was eager to see the new professor and what she'd prepared for her students. Lily wasn't surprised that there weren't many students inside, after all most of the wizards and witches hated Muggles and everything related to them. Lily just shrugged and took a seat, near the Ravenclaw boy from her year. She knew she would probably be the only Slytherin student taking the class, but she didn't care. Lily had spent her childhood near Muggles, her family was the only magic family in their village, yet she joined Muggle Studies. Living amongst Muggles wasn't same as studying Muggles and their way of life. Lily crossed her legs and turned her gaze towards the professor, waiting for the class to begin.

Ambrosia smiled at the students as they entered and spoke softly to the one who was not on the list, "It is alright this time, But for next class you will be signed up. Simply because you came to the first lesson." She stood up and spoke softly, "You will see books on your tables, those are for you to use for studying. " She looked down at the list and noticed one missing and spoke softly as she made another desk appear, "We shall wait a moment for the last two to arrive, If they do not arrive shortly we will begin classes." She then went to the board and picked up her wand and began writing upon it slowly.

Before heading to her next class Bahyia made a detour to the hospital wing. She slipped inside quietly and walked up to Sirius's bed. Pixie looked down at him and heaved a long sigh. She touched the side of his face and said softly, "You should not have done that Siri." Bahyia withdrew her hand and dug it deep in her pockets. "I promise it will never happen again. Siri I will..." Her sharp ears caught a sound. The matron was on her way back. Bahyia glanced one last look at Sirius before darting out of the hospital wing. She did not stop walking until she reached the classroom door. Bahyia paused for a short while and took a deep breath before knocking on the door and pushing it open. As she stepped inside, Bahyia cast a quick glance around the room. Her eyes sought Ambrosia and she stared at the back of the woman's head as she wrote on the board with her wand.

Crap! Crap! Crap! She was late for Professor Ambrosia’s class. Prue could not believe what just happened. She never even thought it would ever happen to her. When she was along the corridor that held the door to the Muggle Studies classroom, she wandered what she was going to say to the professor. Telling her lies was not an option. She just wasn’t the type.
She took a deep breath, looked up to the high heavens and prayed to Merlin the she was not late. Pushing the door open, she found Professor Burkette in front of the room, writing something on the board. Biting her lip she approached her just as slowly as she was writing and said. “Good Afternoon, Professor.” She greeted sheepishly. “I’m really really sorry. I was doing some advanced reading in the Library and I fell asleep. I’m really very sorry.” She said really apologetically, feeling very guilty. Then, she hurriedly sat on the nearest vacant chair, not wanting to disrupt the class even more.

As the others filed into the room she smiled and spoke softly, "Alright that is everyone, Now i would like to say again that the books in front of you are yours, for references if needed." She turned towards the class again with her left hand on her hips and spoke softly, "So who here knows exactly what a muggle is?" She raised an eyebrow.

As Lars woke up from his trance at the sound of Professor Burkette's voice, he realized that the lesson will now begin. He was listening to her question attentively and then he raised his hand, waiting to be acknowledged by the professor.
"A Muggle is a person who is born into a non-magical family and is incapable of magic. They are not to be confused with Squibs, who also lack magic but are born into magical families and are aware of the wizarding world," he answered.

Ambrosia let the quill write it down as he spoke and then nodded and spoke softly, "Alright, can anyone add anything else in?" She rose an eyebrow as she walked a little bit in front of her desk and leaned against it.

Helena smiled at the teacher in thanks for her kind consideration and started going over the book. Judging by the size, there were a lot of things she was going to learn from this subject, which was great, for she loved learning.
Helena observed a Ravenclaw answer and she felt kind of guilty. She had not even notice him before. What was his name? She could not even remember. What she remembered was she owed him an apology and until then, she still hadn't figure out a way to do that. Her pride was, again, in the way.
Helena grabbed the opportunity to answer one of the teacher’s questions by raising her hand without really thinking. She was the type who thought of everything on the spot. The young Ravenclaw waited for the teacher’s eyes to land on her before standing up and saying, “In addition to what he said,” She paused, her voice confident as she gestured to Mr. Stouner. “Muggles are human beings, just like witches and wizards, and since they are incapable of magic, they have this urge to fear witches and wizards. This fear drives them to do some violent actions which often result to the brutal death of our kind. Sometimes they even kill their own due to their lack of ability to determine who magical beings are and who aren’t.” She said in a neutral tone, she hoped. She just wasn’t fond of muggles, but she wasn’t pro killing them or anything. The girl was just taking the class to understand their peculiar ways and lessen her free time.

Prudence was glad she wasn’t the only one who came in late, nevertheless, she still wanted to recite but, again, someone already did. First it was Lars and then Helena, one of the founder’s daughter. Helena reminded her about that one time she teased Lars about the two of them having a lover’s quarrel in the middle of Charms class. She bit her lip to stop herself from chuckling as she recalled his facial expression when she told her what she thought was happening between the two. Not wanting to be caught laughing in class, especially not the day she came in late, she focused on her book and started flipping the pages as she listened to the Professor.

Ambrosia smiled widely before speaking, "That is wonderful, So tell me.. Without magic could we identify a muggle from a wizard?" She raised an eyebrow as she looked to the class happily, these students were very bright.

Hearing the next question seemed to have made him think more than he intended to. When he was able to collect his thoughts, he raised his hand again.
"It would be interesting to note that without magic, we cannot really actually distinguish a Muggle from a wizard. There are instances where in a magical child would actually be born to Muggle parents, so the only parameter we can consider is that their awareness of the wizarding world. Muggles seem to find non-magical explanations for magical phenomena happening around them," he said. "Wizards actually try impersonating Muggles, but the result was often very humorous at that."

Prudence actually did not know the answer to the professor’s last question. She had already checked her textbook and found out that it wasn’t there. Of course it wasn’t there, the Professor would not ask that if it was there. Her sarcastic voice sarcastically teased her.
When she heard Lars’ answer, she agreed with him, the fact that the wizarding world pretend to be muggles was probably the biggest barrier that hindered people from determining who was magical and who was not. Prue then eyed the professor, waiting for her reaction to Lars’ answer.
