Cornictacus was away for a while, visiting other countries, finding some treasures as he always does. Corni walked toward Helga's office, he missed her and the kids, wondering how she was doing. He walked toward the door, knocking at it a few times, hoping she'll open it, he also took out a box from his pockets, looking at the necklace he found, he smiled, hoping she'd love it.

Helga had both twins in her arms and cradled to her chest. All three Hufflepuffs were fast asleep; Helga was on the couch, serving as a human cot to the infants. The babies were only a few months old and thankfully not too difficult to handle. However, they both had tummy aches and had been awake all night crying. Naturally, Helga had to stay up with them to soothe them and try to ease their discomfort as best as possible. Cornictacus's knock wasn't loud enough to stir any of the blondes in the room, thus they remained asleep.
The office door had been left ajar.

He looked at the door being slightly opened from the knock, Corni took his wand out just in case, this silence put him on edge as he opened the door and got inside, looking around. ''Helga... love are you here?'' He said as he looked around, he was worried after past events and experiences, as he kept looking around, eventually approaching the door, giving it a knock. "Helga....?" He said, if there was no reply he'd try unlocking the door or just kick it open.

Somewhere in her unconscious, Cornictacus's voice was registered and Helga moved her head slightly from side to side. Marc Andre scrunched his nose and turned a bit. Adelle, on the other hand, balled her fists as her eyes flew wide open. She wiggled for a brief moment and then started making soft baby sounds.

Cornictacus heard some baby sounds, he had a sigh of relief before unlocking and opening the door slowly, as he went inside, he saw Helga and the kids, giving a little smile, getting close to Adelle, he took her in his arms. "Desoler sweetheart je voulais pas te reveiller." He said, trying to make her sleep by singing a lullaby, he felt awful for waking up his daughter, he looked at Helga, kissing her forehead softly hoping it won't wake her up, as he moved around the room holding Adelle and resuming his lullaby, singing softly to her.

Adelle was happy to see her father's familiar face. She smiled when he picked her up and instantly curled her small hand around his finger. The child liked the sound of his voice, but she was hungry. No matter how comforting the lullaby sounded, Adelle just started to cry and cry. She wanted food and this seemed the only way to attract the adult's attention for such necessities. A few seconds later, Marc Andre woke up and joined his twin. The symphony of wails and tears jolted Helga out of her sleep. She stood up and automatically placed both children in the cot; as she took Adelle, Helga did not seem to notice Cornictacus. She was about to start preparing the bottles when her brain clicked. Helga whirled around and looked at her fiancée dumbfounded. She rushed towards him and threw herself in his arms.

Cornictacus stopped his lullaby when she started crying. "Adele shh... tu vas les r.." he heard Marc waking up and then Helga waking up, he sighed calmly, she took Adelle from his hands, he looked at her confused, wondering if she was okay. He saw her take some bottles, so the kids were probably hungry he eventually saw Helga whirling around, he smiled as she ran to him, catching her in his arms, he kissed her neck and then lips softly. "I missed you.." He said, holding her in his arms. "I think the kids are hungry though we should feed them first and then catch up." He said with a smile, he still had that French accent but his English got better over the years as he looked at her, caressing her cheek.

Helga pushed herself up so that while her arms were draped around his neck, her legs were wrapped tightly around his waist. She returned the kiss and rested her chin on his shoulder to inhale Cornictacus's scent. It was simply exhilarating to have him back and so close. She looked up and smiled.
"I missed you too," she whispered against his neck.
Although she was indulging in the moment, the children were at the forefront of her thoughts. She jumped back on the ground and adjusted her robes before walking back to the cot. As she peered down, a smile highlighted her facial features. Both babies were still crying; and also holding onto one another.
Bending down slightly to caress them she said, "It's ok my darlings. Father will prepare your food."
She looked over her shoulders and grinned at Cornictacus.
"All you need is in the adjacent room," she added |

Conictacus just smiled, as he kissed her cheek softly, he looked at her get back down and smiled, he looked at the kids eventually hearing what Helga said, he just smiled. "D'accord chérie, I'll cook the food and you want some food as well?" Cornictacus said as he ended up walking toward the adjacent room, he looked at the ingredients, and started 'working' on it.
"Oh before I forget, I left a box on your desk, little gift I found in Egypt." Cornictacus smiled, hoping she'd like the necklace, as he focused on the food for his son and daughter.

Helga tipped her head to the side, thinking for a moment. She then scrunched her nose and shook her head no.
"I haven't been very hungry lately," she admitted.
The blonde Hufflepuff glanced over her shoulder towards the twins, who seemed to have settled down for the time being. In the meantime, Cornicatcus disappeared inside the other room. Helga turned to stare at the door while he spoke. Her eyes widened and she bit on her lower lip before casting a furtive look towards her desk. Cornictacus always brought her gifts from his travellers, even though admittedly Helga never expected him to. In the sense, that seeing him back was good enough for her. Curiously, she wandered towards her desk and picked up the box. Helga traced her fingers along the embossed pattern before finally opening it. A loud gasp escaped her lips at the magnificence of the gift. |

He smiled, in a way guessing her expression with the loud gasp. He finally finished the cooking for the kids, bringing them the food. He smiled as he looked over at Helga. "Tu es magnifique ma cherie." He said still looking at her. "It belonged to an Egyptian princess, was lucky to find it." Cornictacus said as he smiled. "Ahh and here kids.. papa finished cooking." He said with a smile as he kissed his daughter and son's forehead, before feeding them.
"Well..when they will be sleeping..we can catch up." He said with a mischievous smile on his face as he looked toward her.

"It's so beautiful," she said breathlessly.
Helga did not want to seem too eager, but she could not resist not trying the necklace on. It was so wonderful and Helga seemed to be drawn to it like bees to honey. She felt like it was calling to her, urging her to try it on... begging her even. In the end, she decided to oblige the necklace. From the moment she had taken the jewellery in her hands, Helga started to think of it as a living being. Her behaviour could not be blamed. As soon as she closed the clasp, the necklace spasmed before laying snugly and attractively around her neck. Simultaneously, her eyes flashed black before returning to their original colour. Since she had her back to her fiance, Cornictacus could not have seen what happened.
The necklace carried a curse, which was activated when it was in the possession of a young woman.

Cornictacus was unaware about the medallions curse, he just knew that the medallion was first found by one of his ancestors, though he had no idea of the curse placed in it. Something did feel a bit odd but he didn't mind, as he fed the kids some food while humming calmly. "Cheri you sure you don't want anything to eat?" He finally said as he kept feeding his kids, kissing them both on their foreheads, as he turned to look at Helga. "Cheri? Est-ce que ca va?"

Helga felt that she was losing control of her own body. She yelled and screamed for Cornictacus to help her, but no sound come out. On the inside she was fighting a malicious battle while on the outside she looked composed albeit seeming distracted. Helga could hear her fiance's words but no matter how much she tried, she could not reply. A dark force was creeping around her and she felt her spirit being warded into a corner of her being while a stronger force took over her body.
"I am not yet hungry," she heard her own voice say.
Leave me alone!! Helga said. She was scared and that feeling intensified when a chuckle echoed inside her mind.
A prominent voice followed, I am here to stay. Your body is mine to command.

"Are you sure?" He managed to ask, though of course he couldn't notice anything wrong in his wife, he couldn't even notice her possession. Eventually he put his son and daughter to sleep as he looked over at her, wondering if everything was fine. He sighed calmly. "You sure everything is alright? Hmm m'accorderai-tu cette danse?" He said as he approached her, he missed her so much, pulling her close for a kiss, being more bold than when they first started their relationship.
