Ksenia arched an eyebrow when Ana moved away from her. Was the girl expecting to be physically dragged to Alexander's office? Was she expecting Ksenia to actually touch her? The older witch felt nauseous at the mere thought. She hated touching other people or being touched by them. "Miss Gavronskii, what is wrong?" Ksenia frowned when Ana shook her head. "Are you refusing to obey me?" her voice became dangerously high-pitched. Ksenia made another step forward, her eyes never leaving Ana's. "Well?" she asked, urging Ana to answer her question.

Her voice trembled as she said, "Nothing is wrong Madame."
Taking into consideration Ksenia's reaction, Anoushka realised that shaking her head in the negative had been a tremendously bad idea. Her professor was starting to get annoyed at her behaviour and they both knew it. Ana hated the thought of upsetting Ksenia, as much as she hated the thought of having her academic record stained. She was normally an impeccable student. Today she had made a transgression and was now scared stiff of its consequences.
"Madame please. I do not wish to disobey your orders."
Her lips were saying one thing and her body another as she backed away once more.

Ksenia was still looking at Ana, as though trying to decide whether to curse her or throw something at her. Luckily, she didn't do either. She just kept staring at Ana.
"There's obviously something wrong." she replied coldly. They were only waisting their time, standing there and chatting; they could already have been at the Headmaster's office. Ksenia sadly realised that she desperately needed a drink.
"Well, what is it, then?" she hissed when Ana said that she didn't wish to disobey her orders. Ksenia's eyes narrowed even more as they followed Ana's movement towards the wall and in the opposite direction of her. "Miss Gavronskii, is there something you wish to tell me?" the professor inquired, this time remaining at the same place. She folded her arms across her chest, waiting for Ana's answer.

Without realising it Anoushka had cornered herself. She was now pressed against the cold stone wall and had nowhere to escape to. Ksenia wanted answers and Ana was reluctant to give them - she worried of what her professor might think of her. Ksenia seemed menacing from Anoushka's standing view. Not being able to withstand the pressure any longer, she hung her head in defeat and stared down at her shoes.
"Headmaster Olaf will be displeased Madame. He told us, this morning, that due to failing grades no student would be allowed to go outside in the afternoon and evening."

Ksenia made another step forward, approaching Ana and staring at her with her sparkling light eyes. Professor Calpurnia wanted answers and she usually got what she wanted. One way or another. The older witch was coming towards her pray, pressed against the wall in attempt to escape. However, she stopped and tilted her head to the side slightly, upon hearing Ana's words. Her eyes widened. Had she unintentionally broken his rule by allowing Ana to stay with her outside?
"Well, I... I suppose that he wouldn't mind, since you've been with me all evening. Besides, we are visiting him in order to protect other students and professors."

Ivan slammed the door to Olaf's office behind him. He turned down the hall and went straight out toward the doors. Olaf's decree banning 'problem students' from going to the Tournament was the cause of Ivan's distress. He had never liked Olaf and was resolved to visit his mother at home tonight and have her set Olaf straight. Ivan didn't like his mother very much either. She remained with that Olaf. Though she liked Ivan for some reason and gave him anything he wanted.
He turned a corner. Almost not noticing the two girls, he nearly touched the professor Calpurnia. "Stand aside, lowborn oaf!" Ivan turned his head and took a step back, realizing who he had insulted. Raising a brow, he watched waiting to see how she would react.

Ksenia was still waiting for Ana's reply, tapping her foot on the floor impatiently, her arms still folded across her chest. It was quite obvious that she wouldn't be given a reply. Still wondering what to do about the silly girl, Ksenia was standing in the middle of the hallway, ignoring her surroundings as she usually did while contemplating something else.
Naturally, she ignored the sound of the approaching footsteps. If that person was smart enough, they would get out of her way. However, what happened then shocked Ksenia immensely. The boy had nearly touched her! And he was brave -or foolish - enough to insult her. The woman turned towards the boy, her hand instinctively flying to her wand, hidden in her robes. When she realised who he was, Ksenia narrowed her eyes and clenched her fists, so that she wouldn't curse him. Alexander would never forgive her if she cursed his son. She was, however, allowed to yell at him as loudly as she desired. "How dare you?! With such behaviour, you are a disgrace to this school, to your entire family and especially to your father!" she stopped, glaring at the boy. "Your father will hear about this. And your mother too!" she added, straightening to her full height, which was still considerably shorter than his.

Anoushka did not look convinced by Ksenia's reassurance. In her mind Olaf might make exceptions for the woman before her, however, she doubted his leniency for a student. Ksenia kept looking at her with a firm expression, clearly expecting a reply. Ana did not want to go. She simply didn't. Her mouth parted and she was about to intone her protests when Ivan's words broke the silence. Anoushka gasped at what he said, feeling utterly shocked. Ksenia reacted immediately and Ana noticed she had been about to draw her mind. Durmstrang professors were notorious for punishing students with curses, the thought of almost witnessing Ksenia perform one panicked Ana.

Ivan probably would have apologized quickly and ran away from any other professor. Though there were two things that made this encounter different; the most important one was that there was another student witnessing it, but also the Professor and what she said to him played a part in his need to fight back.
With his brow still high, Ivan frowned. He realized she had almost grabbed her wand and moved his hand closer to his own. "Your ignorance is glaring. You know nothing of my father and mother if you think they would care about your damaged pride. This place, the man you call my father and you are unworthy of me. Put me in remand and whine to your great Olaf, I will not be intimidated by the likes of you two."
With a glance toward Anoushka, Ivan wanted to impress her. With a swift movement, he gently rubbed his thumb along the Professor's cheek. "It must be hard, trying to impress such an emotionless, impotent fool. You should set your sights much higher." Ivan turned on his heel and continued past the two ladies. His back was to them in seconds.
