Catrina sat in the hufflepuff common room, tears streamed down her face, her legs curled up to her chest, and her arms hugging them, as she remembered the scene that had just unraveled. Catrina was sitting outside, her blond hair down. Harvey - her childhood sweet heart had asked to speak to her alone by the lake. So she sat and she waited. She felt a tap on her shoulder and she turned around to see Harvey, only he didn't look happy. A concerned look appeared quickly on her face.
"Harvey, whats wrong?" she asked sweetly. His face still looked hard and stony. She had never seen him like that before. "I can't do this anymore" he had said in a unemotional tone". "Do what" Catrina had replied confused. His simple said before walking off, "Date you". Catrina had ran straight to the Hufflepuff Common Room.
She heard footsteps and quickly wiped at her eyes. She looked up. Her eyes still bloodshot and red. She tried to smile, but she was emotionally worn out. She looked back down and rested her head in her knees. She shivered softly as she held back sobs. She didn't want to look weak by crying in front of someone. "Hey" she said quietly. Trying to act as normal as possible.

Helga liked to interact with her students. She often visited the Hufflepuff common room and exchanged a word with its occupants. Helga was genuinely interested in how they were doing in Hogwarts. She wanted her students to know she was there for them if they needed her. After having prepared the next day's lesson, Helga changed into more comfortable clothes and stepped out of her office. The common room was empty except for Catrina. Concern immediately crossed Helga's face when she caught sight of the girl's expression. Helga's eyes widened and she hurried towards the girl. The founder sat down beside her and placed her hand on the girl's shoulder. "What's the matter dear?" she asked softly. Helga bent her head slightly and added, "Has anyone harmed you?"

Catrina looked at her head of house. She managed a small smile, she liked Professor Hufflepuff. She was always checking on her students - not that the others weren't. "Its just. It sounds rather silly now. Its just Harvey" she stumbled over her words. "Its just I thought that we'd last. That we'd end up getting married. Because we've dated for years now. We'd known each other since we could remember as well" she blurted out, spilling everything in her head out to Professor Hufflepuff. "No one harmed me" she exclaimed, quickly. "Thank you Professor" she said gently. Wiping at her eyes with her sleeves. Her heart felt heavy and her eyes felt tired. The hurt was still there. She knew eventually she'd get over him, but right now it just seemed too hard. She also wanted her cat. Salem. She wondered where he was.

Helga listened in silence and waited until Catrina was done with her speech before hugging the girl close to her and saying, "Matters of the heart are never silly my dear." Helga rubbed her back gently and then pulled back. She smiled at the girl, who was only five years younger than herself, and said "If you two were meant to be he will come back. If not you have to be strong and not give up on love." Helga let out a small sigh and thought about her own special someone; perhaps she had been too hard on Cornictacus lately. "You're welcome Catrina," the young founder replied. She fell silence for a while and then said with a slow smile, "Would you like to taste my mother's special hot chocolate? It's only for sad moments like this one. I promise it will make you feel better and help you sleep tonight."

Catrina hugged her head of house back, the comfort of a simple hug relaxing her. "I guess not" she said slowly. She nodded, and smiled. Maybe Harvey would come back to her. She'd just have to wait, but thinking that got her hopes up. Something she pushed back down quickly - She did not want to be disappointed . Catrina nodded. "I'd like that very much Miss" she smiled "Its been a while since I've had hot chocolate." she commented lightly. A soft smile on her lips at the thought of hot chocolate. She wiped away the last residue of tears on her cheeks in a soft motion.

The founder returned the girl's smile warmly and replied, "Why don't you meet me in my office in fifteen minutes?" Having no help, Helga would have to prepare the hot chocolate herself. After hearing the child's reply, she squeezed her hand gently and stood up. Helga went straight to the kitchen. She put the kettle to boil and while she waited, she busied herself with making some sandwiches. Helga added a special soothing herb to the hot chocolate and once done she enchanted the tray and headed to her office.

Catrina smiled at the head of house. "Okay Miss Hufflepuff." She said softly. She sat up straight, and ran her hands down her crumpled clothes to make them more acceptable. Catrina stood after a while and walked to the door of Professor Hufflepuff's office and leaned against the wall next to the office. As she saw the professor walking back to her office. "Miss, I did not feel it was appropriate to go in to the office" she said sweetly. She held the door open for the professor, smiling at her sweetly.

Helga found Catrina standing outside her office. She smiled at her and nodded her approval. Helga was glad that most of her House had good manners and knew what was appropriate and what was not. She thanked the teen for opening the door for her and lead the way inside her office. She directed the tray towards a small table at the side of the office and invited Catrina to have a seat.

Catrina smiled sweetly - a smile that did not stay for long, but was there - that she'd done the right thing, Catrina always tried to behave in a well mannered and friendly way. She liked to have permission and approval before she acted. Catrina smiled at her head of houses thanks. Catrina sat down in the chair, she made herself comfortable and rubbed nervously at her arms. "Thank you for this Miss" she said quietly. Catrina felt Professor Hufflepuff was like a second mother.
