Natalie sighed. She did not expect this class to be fun. Everything was different from the last class she had held. All of Natalie's enchantments and devices were removed. She also still kept the door wide open despite classes having started five minutes and twenty seconds ago. Natalie sat on her chair with one leg up on her desk. She was fastening one of her boots, ignoring students that came in late. The change itself seemed as euphoric as the spell that gripped her mind.
When Natalie was satisfied that the boot would not slip off, she stood. Displaying quite a drastic change in wardrobe. Instead of her usual dark-coloured, tight trousers and blouse, she wore a warm-coloured loose gown. She scooped her wand off the desktop and surveyed the classroom for a moment.
When she finally stirred, Natalie summoned a large, glass bottle of gigantic beetles. "Hello, class!" Natalie spoke in a loud, bubbly manner very unlike her usual self. "Who can guess what we'll be learning today? No need for hands." Natalie then grinned, something she would never normally do. She searched the students carelessly waiting for guesses to start pouring in.

This was the first time Auriga would be seeing professor Fletcher after the last lesson. As she reached the classroom, Auri noticed that the door was wide open. She peered inside and was satisfied that she was one of the first to arrive. Auriga crossed the room and sat down in her usual place. This time she did not want that annoying Viola sitting next to her, therefore picked a double desk that was already occupied by a student.
Until that moment, she had not even acknowledged Natalie's presence and when she finally did her expression became one of shock. Professor Fletcher did not like herself at all. Standing before her was a completely different person. And if she had to be honest, Auri preferred Natalie's old look. These new clothes and the decor of the class made her look soft.
Viola soon appeared in the doorway and with a raised eye brow asked, "What's wrong with you?" She folded her arms over her chest and looked Natalie up and down. Without waiting for a reply, she slipped into one of the back seats and kept looking at Natalie like she was a mad woman.
Ooc: I will be rping Auriga and Viola from one account.

It was almost a couple of weeks since their last class with Professor Fletcher. Alaric literally dragged his legs towards the classroom. Apparently, he knew that the memory of their first class would always weigh on him for life. Sighing, he finally reached the corridors leading to the said classroom. He then increased his pace because he was already running late.
To his surprise, the classroom door was open, despite the fact that he was already late. He then walked in hurriedly and sat on the nearest empty seat. He then looked around the classroom; he could see very noticeable changes inside. But what actually shocked him was the professor herself. She was a far cry from the ruthless professor who actually casted an unforgivable curse on Helena Ravenclaw. He then shifted his gaze towards the jar full of beetles. And when he heard her booming, overly enthusiastic voice, he just sighed. For some reason completely unknown to him, he preferred the old Natalie. She didn't fit the image she was trying to project and that she was doing an absolutely horrendous job acting up. He just continued to stare at the jar for a few more minutes, trying to see what really was inside.

Natalie's brilliant grin faded. She looked down at the jar of beetles nervously. She had obviously changed too much. Natalie looked up at the class and went on, ignoring Auriga. "Right. We're going to cover Crucio today. I want everyone to know how to cast the spell by the end of class. Knowing how it is performed is key to resisting it." Natalie placed the jar on her desk. "Open your dark arts pamphlets to page 3 for details on the spell. And when you're confident come retrieve a beetle to practice the spell." Suddenly, small papers bound by magic and handwritten appeared on every desk of the class. "First one to drive a beetle insane gets 50 points!" Natalie's grin reappeared though it seemed darker. She then returned to her seat and stared at a blank piece of parchment with a blank expression. The jar of beetles twisted open by itself and it seemed that a spell kept the beetles from escaping themselves. The door remained open despite the fact that Natalie had now started her lesson.

Cherry had arrived on time for Natalie's class only one time and had vowed never to do so again. Cherry despised Professor Fletcher. She was frightening. Always so serious, the Professor proved. She had implied that Cherry was a werewolf during that entire class too. Cherry wondered if she had simply been paranoid that Natalie covered werewolves on her first class but the Professor seemed to know as well. It was a strange class that had been sure.
When Cherry came to get the day's homework, she noticed the door was actually open. She thought it might be a trap. Cherry had escaped werewolf hunters before. But in the castle? Cherry shrugged and went into the classroom.
Natalie had just started talking about the lesson. Cherry had no clue what the 'Crucio' curse even did. She stood still in front of the door staring at the jar in the Professor's hands. Someone walked into her and Cherry fell forward she caught herself by latching onto Viola's shoulders. "Sorry!" Cherry stood up straight and turned to see who had pushed her.

Sarah couldn't care for any kind of change in even the highest of the Professors. She had much more important matters on her mind. It was now weeks and Cole had failed to reappear. And he had apparently taken the only thing her family had been able to leave her. Sarah was drunk with anger that she did not see the incompetent Hufflepuff girl when she walked through the door to her next class. Sarah bumped her nose on Cherry's head. She screamed and pushed Cherry's back even as the other girl was still falling. Sarah glared at Cherry as the younger Hufflepuff turned to face her. "Do you want another push?" Sarah mocked Cherry. And waited for the Hufflepuff to react.

Viola's words almost echoed Auriga's thoughts. The only difference was that the latter did not bother with making unnecessary comments. Ever since meeting and falling in love with Tiberius, Auri became softer and she did not mind the least. Auriga was pleased that Viola did not decide to sit next to her and she thought she would be able to concentrate on class. By mentioning the cruciatus curse Natalie gained Auri's attention. She knew the basics but had never cast the curse. Auri opened her textbook and started reading the chapter as instructed.
In the meantime, Viola laughed loudly at Natalie's instructions. She did not need a silly book telling her how to cast the curse. Her mother had taught her well and Viola had mastered the curse over two years previously. She stood up cockily with the intention of taking her beetle. All of a sudden, she felt a hand pressing on her shoulder. As Cherry was pushed, she bumped into Viola and sent her hurling against the desk. Viola snarled angrily. She straightened herself and grabbed Cherry's hand roughly. Viola twisted the girl's hand until she heard a feint cracking noise.
She released her hold and hissed, "Do not ever touch me again you pathetic Hufflepuff bitch." Viola pushed past Cherry and stormed towards Natalie's desk. She pulled out her wand and levitated one of the beetles. Viola lowered it in front of Natalie and uttered coldly, "Crucio!" The beetle started contorting grotesquely and Viola laughed at it. However, it was not half as fun as cursing a person. Mainly because with the beetle there were no screams. Viola fixed her gaze on Natalie for several seconds before eventually lifting the curse and walking back to her desk, leaving a half dead beetle behind.

Brutus had written the books. Even though he wasn't in the classroom he could see all that happened through Natalie. It had surprised him to learn that this Professor that fell to his will was the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor. He had failed to find Melkor's location, but had decided to reform the DADA class to fit his style.
He noticed an altercation at the back of the class but did not care. When a student stepped forward and showed the curse to him, Brutus instructed Natalie to show no interest in it. Brutus would have thought Viola was ready to feel Crucio herself but decided against having Natalie curse a student, so let the student go back to her seat unhindered.
Cherry stared at the Head Girl in fear, though she was unaware that it should have been the other girl she feared. "Sorry-" Cherry began then she felt her hand being twisted. At first she feared it was the Professor come to give her a detention. She felt a great amount of pressure on her hand though and she cried out in a high pitch. Her cry hid the sound of her own cracking bones to her. Cherry held her hand in her other one massaging it.
Cherry cowered away from the two angry girls quietly whimpering as tears came to her eyes. She looked to the Professor for aid but she just sat at her desk staring at something. Cherry decided this was now the most frightening experience in her life when the same fifth year that had broken her hand perfomed this 'crucio' curse with ease. Cherry put her damaged limb in her lap and put her head down onto her desk in her other arm.

Post by Viktor Mercus Lorrein on Feb 23, 2011 22:52:58 GMT 1
Viktor was amused, in bed with another girl in his own dormitory, however he just sighed angrily when the girls energy was at it's limit. "Boring bitch, now I have to go to class so I won't be bored." Viktor said, sighing he hated that class, taught by a mediocre teacher, as he left the dormitory after putting on his school robes. He took his sweet time to get out of the dormitory, not being in a rush as he didn't care if he came in late or not.
Along the way he just pushed an annoying group of first years as he got toward the stairs, walking calmly toward the third floor, he had no care of others, even pushing a student that was walking too slowly for his taste, the student almost fell off the moving stairs. Viktor got inside the classroom and there was some action in it again, as he observed Viola curse a beetle, Viktor just laughed at the reaction the beetle was having, but why a beetle, why not a student instead, this didn't make any sense to him. He then looked over at Natalie, deeply in that persons eyes, he recognized that look since he employed that spell against that little Gaunt brat, he eyed the teacher for hours, an amused smile on his face as he muttered to himself.
"So even a DADA teacher can fall for that curse, interesting, really interesting." Viktor looked at the students around, his eyes focused on that Peverell girl, was she the one with the cape? He had no idea but he would watch her closely from now on, he then looked toward Viola and then away, marching away from the other students and her, sitting on a desk in the corner, putting his foot on the desk, looking at the professor, who was the one who cursed her? He looked at Natalie intensely, seemingly interested on the teacher.

Sarah had to be honest, she enjoyed watching the Hufflepuff get injured. But she was Head Girl so she waved her finger carelessly in Viola's direction. "Keep your hands to yourself, Uhm... You." Sarah did not sound as if she cared though. The stupid crybaby was so annoying. Other Prefects would always help her. The girl just made Sarah sick. Quite like Rowena and her silly daughter. "Mmhm." Was all she muttered when Viktor walked past her. She almost didn't care if he was possibly going to kill her anymore. She was getting tired of Hogwarts to be frank. And she was sure Cole had too. Sarah sighed with boredom and drifted toward a seat at the back of class. She and Cole had practiced Crucio over a few campfires. It was an interesting spell when used during certain naughty activities but its effect had never stricken Sarah as especially useful for anything else. Sarah read the tiny pamphlet that looked like a first year's notebooks. She sighed, Professor Fletcher was so pathetic. It almost hurt to watch. Sarah read further about Cruciatus. It explained that you were supposed to want to hurt your opponent. The instruction made her think of Cole again. Though he was never her opponent and they'd never used the spell in that manner.

As Lars heard the instruction from the professor, he was quite perplexed. Knowing the professor's nature, he couldn't understand why she was having such a lax time, with beetles as dummies to perform the cruciatus curse. As instructed, he opened up his dark arts pamphlet and read everything about the curse. When he finished reading it, he then stood up and took a jar with a beetle on it. As he turned to look at the professor, he immediately saw what was up. She was under the imperius curse. He looked around the classroom for the person who cursed her for he felt that he was just around. When he found no one, he decided to go back to his seat.
As he was walking back to his chosen seat, he caught sight of a familiar face. He then sat next to her and saw that she was nursing an injured arm. "What happened to you?" he asked, horror apparent on his face. He then took out his wand, pointed it on her injured arm and whispered, Episkey! He then took out his handkerchief and tied it to form a splint. "People these days...they are getting ruthless these days," he muttered. He was eyeing the beetle inside the jar, apparently livid with anger; he'll curse it to insanity for sure.

Justin was running down the corridors in a hurry. He was already late for Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Although he already wished to stop taking the class, he could feel that something would be very different today. When he paused by the door to the classroom, he was surprised because the door was open. He then walked cautiously inside and looked for an available seat. He spotted Viola and Auriga again, however they were not seated beside each other. He winked at the both of them and scanned the room again. Finally, he found an empty double desk and sat down on his seat.
He then opened up his dark arts pamphlet and read on the cruciatus curse, on a whim since he still did not know what they were supposed to do. He then looked around and saw that most of the students have a jar with a beetle inside it. He immediately realized that it was timely for him to read on the curse because they would have to perform it on the beetles.
However, what actually shocked him was Natalie herself. She was nothing like the professor who actually cast the Imperius curse on Helena. She became a different entity, merely a shadow of who she used to be. He then gazed at her intently and realized that the reason for the change was because she was under the Imperius curse. He could not understand how she was overpowered; he knew that she had magical resistance abilities to the curse. He knew that the caster was not around and he was sure that he or she would just be watching everything from the sidelines. He then silently went near the table and took a jar. He then went back to his seat, stared at the beetle for a few seconds and unscrewed the lid. He pointed his wand at the beetle and muttered, Crucio! He lazily watched the beetle writhe in pain and then thought of Helena. He just sighed in agony.

She looked at Sarah with narrowed eyes. Viola had never liked her. Head Girl or no Head Girl, she had no respect for the older student. Viola snarled at her words and snapped, "I do not take orders from you Peverell." Viola glared at Sarah and then stormed to the front of the class. She wanted to show these idiots how a proper cruciatus should be casted.
Standing in front of Natalie's desk, the professor's change was more prominent. Viola could not help but notice the vacant expression in the woman's eyes. She formulated a theory of her own, but did not comment. As she walked back towards her desk, Viola smirked at Cherry. She leaned over Cherry and whispered in her ear, "Next time it will be you."
Viola's eyes shifted to the Hufflepuff's hand and patted it roughly, "As good as new." The Slytherin straightened herself and was about to proceed to her desk when she saw Viktor and Justin enter the classroom. She tried catching Viktor's eye, but the older Slytherin simply crossed to the other side of the room and sat down beside that Gwennan.
She laughed when Justin winked at her. Viola looked at him expectantly and bit her lower lip. She then returned his wink and slipped behind her desk. Auriga was not particularly impressed with Justin's escapade with Viola. Nonetheless they were acquaintances therefore she returned his wink with a nod and watched him take his usual seat.
The moment Gwenn had seen Viktor enter the room, she had felt sick to the stomach and tried making herself small so as not to be seen. To her dismay Viktor walked towards her desk and sat down beside her. She braced her arms protectively around her body and greeted him with a forced smile. Gwennan then started edging away from Viktor.

It had been a while since the last DADA class and Prudence still could see the vivid images of the not so desirable turn of events that transpired during the duration of the class in her mind. She could even hear the professor’s vase shatter towards the end of the class. These served as reminders for her to be cautious around the cruel professor. Not really looking forward to see the professor or be in her class, she decided to arrive very late, hoping big time that the shut door would give her an excuse not to go.
After a very slow walk, she finally reached the third floor corridor. According to Lar’s clock, she was twenty minutes late so when she saw the door of the classroom wide open from where she was standing, she gaped. Wondering what the hell was happening, she picked up her pace and closed the distance between her and the classroom.
What she saw astonished her even more. More than one student was speaking and most probably all of them were speaking out of turn. She could hear some students arguing and she noticed that some students were all over the classroom. Where was the professor? Her eyes widened when she saw how calmly the professor was handling all this. She had been expecting a closed door and a detention not some circus for a class. Her eyes searched for Alaric and when she found him, she raised an eyebrow at him.

Helena found herself seated on one of the chairs at the back of the defense against the dark arts classroom. If it weren’t for her mother making her realize that she could not drop the subject and let professor win, she would have been very far away from where she was seated then. The teacher’s weird behavior puzzled Helena at first; but, after about a second or two she realized that the teacher must be under a the influence of the imperious curse. If she owned her free will at the moment, she would have given at least two detentions by then and the late girl from her house would not be admitted to class. As the class turned out to be the opposite of professor’s normal classes, she could not help but gloat. Sweet. Look who is finally getting a taste of her own medicine. She wanted to say but decided against it. She promised her mother she would do her best not to cross the professor. So, she sat idly at the back of the class, looking mildly amused.
