Thirteen year old Helena could be considered more matured than most of the Hogwarts students of her age, however despite this fact, it can’t be denied that she was still thirteen. As the third year ravenclaw threw everything she had in her dark blue duffle bag, she thought of the possible consequences of what she was doing. Letting herself be chased away by everything that was happening at school spelled defeat and cowardice. However, after Justin Law, Lord Valenceus and receiving her first acceptable grade happened, she found herself needing a break. Her first ‘acceptable’ great made her want to take action.
Her feet were still bandaged after the incident with Lord Valenceus just a couple of days ago. Luckily Lord Valenceus left without hurting anyone. Up to that point she was still confused as to how to view him. He was apparently just being controlled by his father. So, he was not himself when he disarmed her mother, tried to use an unforgiveable curse on her, disrespected her uncle Godric and her mother and everything offensive that he did in the span of their short meeting. A part of her pitied him and sided with her mother who obviously loved and trusted him despite his flaws. But a bigger part of her, the one governed by her brain, knew that he was a man with a split soul, a murderer. That part of her did not trust him or even like him even in the tiniest sense of the word.
Helena raised her wand and magically squeezed all her things in her duffle bag. It was a relatively small bag but it would definitely draw attention to her if she walked around the school with it. Unlike her usual self, her I-want-the-spotlight-self, she did not want attention that day. All she wanted was a small unnoticed trip to her mother’s office. So, she magically reduced its size and placed it in her pocket. Having done that, she picked up her teddy bear, reduced it size too, tucked it gingerly in her pocket and finally left the Ravenclaw dormitory.
It was three in the morning, the clock tower said and Helena almost jumped at the loud sound it made as it made an announcement to the whole castle. Upon arriving at her mother’s doorstep, she was certain that it was empty. Alohomora. the door clicked open and Helena cringed when it creaked rather loudly. She tiptoed and placed a letter, containing a lie that was credible until closer inspection, she shakily scribbled down on a crumpled parchment about thirty minutes ago.
Mother,
I’ll be absent for at least a week. Grandfather agreed to meet meat the somewhere. I’m sorry I was not able to ask for your permission in person….
Take care of yourself. I love you.
Helena
Upon dropping off the letter, Helena hurriedly locked her mother’s door and jogged out of the school. Her grandfather never fetched her for Helena did not contact him. The young Ravenclaw went to a very safe place where no one knew her and where she could be refreshed, the muggleworld.
OOC: It's fine if you don't reply. But I would appreciate it if you did.
