Brutus had just stood and left the room a moment before. Morgana sat on the floor. He had warned her about his methods; there was blood everywhere. Most of it was the blood of Mavado Gaunt, her now deceased husband. Morgana held the head of Nerosoldato Gaunt in her hands. His body was still intact though he had bleed profusely. She laid her head to the side and looked down at him. She had dressed nicely to commemorate their murders. She was dressed in a white gown now coated in red. Though as usual when she was at home, her feet were bare.
Morgana heard Brutus bustling around in the other room. She lifted her wand and pointed it at Nero's skull. A dull flash barely lit the main room of her shop. The cap of Nero's skull was thrown off and flew across the room. She lifted out the boy's brain and put her wand under him to his spine. Her spell loosened his body's hold on the rest of the nervous system. She lifted the organs from his body and held the brain high so the spinal cord would not touch the floor. She inspected the brain closely, being sure there was not too much damage to it. She let Nero's corpse fall from her lap as she slowly rose to her feet.
Morgana shuffled toward the counter of her shop slowly. She always felt humbled during a ritual. It made her feel young, as though she were merely a child. She would lose the ability to speak loudly or move quickly. She wanted to call Brutus, but could not. He should have found the water tank by now. Morgana held the brain to her eye level and admired it some more. Nero had been a beautiful boy. He had a very intriguing mind. It was a shame that he was his father's son. He would have made a very powerful dark lord if he had not been influenced by that idiot. "Quickly," Morgana whispered even though Brutus would not hear her. She could hear him approaching though. She could feel the presence of the dark pantheon watching over them. She did not need her usual senses, she felt as safe as a child against a loving parent's breast. She was immensely elated.
Their other friends would be arriving shortly. She wondered if anyone of them were as faithful and dedicated as she was. She was aware that many of them were just after power for themselves. They thought of their own glory rather than the Gods they pretended to worship.

Brutus was elated. Despite the fact that his favorite part of the ceremony was over, the Gaunt was finally dead. Brutus hated anyone that his mother loved. He never knew his true father, but he hated that man as well. Brutus' own family was second to his mother and himself. He had always been her favorite and he only ever did anything to please her. Gaunt was a useless man, Brutus could tell that his mother was not happy with him. The boy was drawing too much attention to the family, Brutus really didn't care about Nero much.
After seventeen minutes, Brutus returned to his mother carrying the tank for human brains. He lifted the 80 pound water vessel to the store's counter with ease. He did not grin. He never showed emotion during a ceremony. He was angered to see that no one had yet arrived which he did not show, of course. Brutus was not allowed to speak during ceremonies. He merely leered at his mother with immense desire.
