The warmth from the sun was highly irritant on Alya's bare skin. She was not a vampire, of course. But had never enjoyed the sunlight. She did not pretend to be a vampire. The fangs she possessed were more to exude an aura of fear than to submit to a vampiric fanaticism. She preferred the night chill. In spite of her preference, Alya stalked the streets of Hogsmeade. Her hair was controlled and hung to one side over her shoulder to her front. She breathed in through her nose and immediately regretted it since she was disgusted by the sound.
A figure loomed ahead under the shade of a building. Alya turned and crossed to the same side of the road as it. The person was immobile for a time but disappeared behind a building just as Alya came close enough to recognize it. She did not suspect that it was running from her. But wondered if it was more likely to be leading her along. Alya followed the shade. She gaped at the chase when she saw who it was.

Brutus watched his half-sister approach. Alya annoyed Morgana and what annoyed Morgana also annoyed Brutus. Even so, Brutus had instructions to murder the girl on sight. He did not wish to commit a public assassination so soon however. So, Brutus made the slightest eye contact with Alya and convinced her mind to follow him into the alleyway. It seemed like a suitable place to kill someone.
Brutus' mouth formed a grin at the sight of Alya's shock. He had tried to kill her once before. As children, though mother had stopped him. "You didn't come to the ritual. Mother was worried for you." Brutus smile never waivered. He knew his siblings feared and envied him. He had only ever been good to the youngest. "It is time to go, dear sister. Mother needs more harvest. You should have come. It would have been quicker, painless." Brutus uncrossed his arms and revealed a wand hidden up his sleeve. He pointed the wand at Alya's chest. "Crucio!"

Despite the fact that she had seen his move coming as soon as she had recognized who he was, Alya was unable to move. It seemed he had a weak Imperio cast upon her. Alya was stricken by his curse, and the pain of it made her collapse. She willed herself not to wimper under his weak spell. But the pain made it hard to tell if she was successful at the attempt or not. It had however seemed too much for him to keep two enchantments upon her at the same time and so she was able to move again past the limits of his previous Imperio spell. Though not quite into any sort of intelligible movement due to the pain his new spell caused her.
Alya was helpless and after a small struggle against the cruciatus curse, gave in. Alya could not even recall which direction was up or down anymore. Much less where she had her wand. There was literally no hope. And Alya knew that by the way Brutus fought, this cruciatus curse was going to be the least of her pain on this encounter. Yet, she was determined not to cry out. Even if she accepted that there was no way to escape Brutus.
