• A muggle-vampire man kidnapped her older sister. Katherine had taken young Anastasia into her care while their parents were busy with Durmstrang. Katherine is presumed dead. Only their father knows what has become of his eldest daughter. Anastasia was severely traumatized by the violent encounter. She was attacked and left barely alive.
  
• Anastasia often says or does cruel things without meaning to. When she was first going off to school, she taunted her other sister for not being as perfect as Katherine and for being a squib(only one of many like incidents). Lamia wrote to their parents informing that she was abandoning Anastasia to their care. Lamia refuses to speak to Anastasia.
