Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
- Founded by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin in AD 986
- Located in Scotland, near Hogsmeade village
- Headmaster: Melkor Alphard Valenceus
- Students are sorted in four Houses, based on their abilities and the Founders' preferences
- Students of all blood statuses and some Magical Creatures are taught (Slytherin House accepts only pure-blood wizards and not Magical Creatures)
- The motto of the school is: "Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus", (Latin for Never tickle a sleeping dragon)
- The Hogwarts uniform consists of a black robe and a black pointed hat, with the house crest on the front of the robe.
Beauxbatons Academy of Magic
- Founded by Monsieur et Madame Lefevre in AD 990
- Located in Southern France
- Headmistress: Yuliya Aleksandra Mitrevska
- Students of all blood statuses are taught; including certain Magical Creatures
- Beauxbatons students wear light blue robes.
Durmstrang Institute
- Founded by Henrik Evensdatter in AD 975
- Located in Norway
- Headmaster: Alexander Grigoryevich Olaf
- Deputy Headmistress: Madame Lamia
- Muggle-born students are not accepted in Durmstrang
- The school is notorius for its acceptance of the Dark Arts.
- The Durmstrang uniform consists of a red robe and a fur cape.
