Rowena shook her head in disbelief, folding her arms. The man was simply impossible. She'd got used to it, though. "Yes, I expected you would. That is all you think about, after all." she added sweetly. "Oh, honestly, Salazar, how many times do I have to explain..." Rowena shook her head again. "Of course, I would be surprised if you thought otherwise."
Rowena smiled again. "Your answers never cease to surprise me, no matter how many times I hear them." after replying without actually telling him anything new, she slowly lifted her cup to her lips and took another sip of the tea. She lowered the cup and looked at Salazar again. "As far as I remember, Salazar, using Occlumency on students is strictly forbidden by our schools rules, which were, let me remind you made by all four of us together." Rowena laughed. "Oh, please... if you are in love with the boy, it doesn't mean that we all have to be. He has never excelled in my classes. On the contrary, he only showed his laziness and complete lack of respect I am certain that both Godric and Helga would agree with me." Rowena gave Salazar another gentle smile. "There is a reason why I picked each of my students. Perhaps it has nothing to do with students, but with the teacher?" she asked innocently.

Salazar took a sip of his tea as he looked at her calmly. He knew that Occlumensy was forbidden on students but it amused him, plus rules were there to be broken, at least he didn't really hurt anyone, he kept looking at her and then just laughed. "Oh of course you'd say that about him, he outsmarted you though don't forget." Salazar said, knowing that Viktor could of killed her if the polyjuice potion lasted longer, he sighed calmly. He never saw laziness in the boy, he saw ambition, a certain darkness that even Salazar didn't like. "Of course they would agree, you three are the inseparable trio, thinking they are always right and the others are always wrong, arrogant and stubborn." Salazar said coldly as he looked at her.
When she spoke about picking her student and the fault was on the teacher instead, he just looked at her calmly. "Questioning my teaching methods now are we?." He said as he looked at her. "Tsk tsk, no need for your innocent facade my dear, fine be arrogant, be cold I don't care. It's not like I'm in hogwarts happily, no all I see is fools thinking their arrogance matters, thinking that teaching the enemy is a good idea.. It is not, and one day you'll all pay for that." Salazar said, finishing his tea, as he put down the cup more aggressively then intended the cup just broke, shards flying from side to side.
"You question my teaching, I could question your own parenting skills, now get out!" He said coldly as he looked at her, with a snake like glare. Even his snake seemed angry at it.

Rowena raised an eyebrow, the last traces of smile and amusement vanishing from her face. "It takes a lot more than a boy to outsmart me, Salazar." she said in a dangerously low voice. "I was merely taken by surprise, he did not outsmart me." She readjusted her position in the chair. "I admit that the boy has always been rather..." Rowena was looking for the right word to describe him. "... strange, dangerous, with certain darkness around him, something even you couldn't compete with." Rowena sighed at his words. "That is because we are right, most of the time." she replied calmly. She had learned through the years to deal with Salazar's constant irony and unpleasant words.
Rowena didn't even blink, let alone move or actually leave. "You keep calling me arrogant and cold, but you simply don't realise that it is you who is being arrogant and foolish. You simply don't understand, do you? You refuse to admit that you are wrong and not us." Rowena calmly took a sip, emptying her cup and put it down gently and rather slowly, in contrast to Salazar's movements. She didn't do or say anything when his cup broke.
"I do not question your skills, nor your teaching. I am merely saying that you ought to be more careful and start playing by the rules for once in your life. And if I were to question you, I would have every right to do so, being a teacher myself. You on the other hand haven't any children, if I'm not mistaken and therefore you have no right to even talk to me about my parenting skills." she spoke coldly, looking him straight in the eye. Her hands started shaking and she quickly grabbed her skirt to hide it. It was truth that Helena was her biggest weakness, biggest challenge and sometimes even biggest disappointment and Salazar knew her too well...

Salazar glared at her, but still admired that she didn't back away as he repaired his cup of tea using the spell non-verbally. He also knew he hit a sensible topic to her, he knew how difficult it was for her to raise Helena, specially knowing that she is now with another man. He just looked at her calmly and gave a little sigh. She was a fool if she thought he had no children, then again he did hid his daughter from them, training her himself which is why he would be absent for long period of times in Hogwarts.
"Your life isn't my concern, nor should my life or rebellious ways be yours, you are already rebellious yourself, with the headmaster nonetheless it is an accomplishment. So odd that you would talk about rules, specially to me." He said as he looked at her calmly. To him, Rowena always seemed to think of herself as perfect he shook his head calmly, pouring some more tea on his cup.
"Rules are for cowards that won't seek real power, sometimes you have to bend rules for your own good, I'm pretty sure the headmaster would agree." He said calmly as he looked at her. "You won't manage to change me Rowena, don't even try to think that you can change me, you all obviously did, admitting the real enemies in Hogwarts heh.. mudbloods." He spat as he got up calmly, pacing around his room.
"I would of been off better at Durmstrang, at least they have a real vision, they know the dangers that you, Helga and Godric ignore." He said, levitating more sugar cubes toward their tea cups. "More sugar and cookies Rowena?" He said, sounding normal as he asked that. He looked at her calmly.

Rowena did her best to stay perfectly composed. She watched Salazar repair the cup with a non-verbal spell, but her mind was somewhere else. His words made her think about Helena; he somehow always made her question her decisions and motives. It was annoying and impressive at the same time.
"Alright." she said. "I agree. Let's not think about each other's lives." Rowena had to laugh, since she didn't know what else to do. "Rebellious? Me? What are you talking about, Salazar? Are you saying that I am rebellious because I'm..." she was trying to find adequate words "... in a relationship with the man who happens to be the headmaster of our school?" she finished, raising an eyebrow. "Don't be ridiculous, Salazar!"
Rowena leaned back in her chair. "Rules are there for a reason. What would become of us if there weren't any rules and guidelines?" Rowena frowned, still looking at Salazar. "There are some rules that should not be broken. I know that and Alfie knows that too." she made a pause and sighed, before continuing. "I'm not trying to change you, I merely disagree with some of your ideas." Rowena's dark eyes followed Salazar as he started pacing around the room. "Do not use that word in front of me. It is impolite." she said coldly. Her reaction was always the same when he used the word mudblood.
"Well, they're coming to visit us soon, perhaps you should ask their headmaster to take you with them." she said, annoyed with the same subject being constantly brought up. Then she remembered the old man she'd met during their last meeting with professors from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons. She also remembered his assistant, a rather tiny arrogant witch with snake-like eyes. She sighed again. "Yes, please." she answered sweetly.

Salazar looked at her, knowing that he did cause conflict inside of her, and he enjoyed causing that as he had a soft chuckle before putting the sugar cubes in her tea and giving her some cookies, he relaxed calmly and sighed as he looked at the ceiling. "You'll never understand my hate for them.. so don't try to change my ways, I will always see them as filth and mudbloods you can't change that." He finally said, he had his own reasons that he didn't want to share with them, as he looked away calmly and sighed taking a sip of his tea.
"We were all best friends but now, that friendship is at an end Rowena." He finally said, he felt no need for them anymore, he preferred being alone, which is probably one of the reasons why he didn't go to any other Founder reunions, he had nothing to tell them, he had no friendship with them, he all ended that himself, soon they will eventually dislike him with what he created. It was only a matter of time, first he'd just help them with the threat an old student might pose.
"Rules and guidelines? Your own man doesn't follow them, you expect some of us to follow them, even in the life of these mudbloods they will bend rules that their cities create, they are such savages, but you will never understand, nor will Godric or Helga." He said as he took another sip and took a bit from his cookie. "Oh these are so good, I remember when we used to have these as teenagers before starting our big dream of building this castle." He finally said smiling a bit at those memories but he just shook them off eventually.
"Heh bloody french people." He just mentioned and sighed. "None of them will be interesting, I'm not even sure I'll be around for the competitions, got important things to do anyways." He said finishing his tea and pouring himself some more. "Would you like some more tea Rowena?"

"Thank you." Rowena said, raising her cup to her lips and taking a sip of the tea. "I gave up trying to understand you many years ago, Salazar." she shrugged. "I know that you refuse to tell us why you hate Muggles so much, but we'll never be able to understand you if you don't tell us." Rowena lowered her cup and gently put it on the table.
"You can't be serious, Salazar. Why are you always doing that, why do you keep pushing us away?" Rowena was biting her lower lip, still staring at Salazar. She frowned again when he mentioned Alfie. "Oh, honestly Salazar! Leave him alone! Leave Alfie alone and leave Muggles alone!" Rowena rolled her eyes. "Yes, the cookies are great." she agreed with a sigh. "Just think about how happy we were all these years ago. We were only children, but we had hopes and dreams. Don't let the boy with dreams and hopes die!"
Rowena shrugged. "I don't mind the French; the headmistress seemed like a very nice woman. The Durmstrang headmaster and the woman who came with him..." Rowena maid a pause. "I don't like them." she finished. "Oh, but I thought you'd be supporting Durmstrang." she teased with a small smile.

Salazar looked at Rowena calmly as he took a sip of his tea, he shook his head. "I don't need that, I don't care if I'm a mystery to you guys, I see no point in revealing anything to people that accept muggles with open arms." He said as he dipped a cookie in his tea, eating it calmly while sipping more of his tea. "Your husband died and you never showed any feelings of vengeance my dear, you are quite odd, perhaps you never loved him that much to begin with." He muttered as he looked at her. "Oh more cookies?"
Salazar listened to her and sighed calmly, moving his hand and his lips doing a sort of bla bla though he was angered by the leaving Muggles alone. "No they need to suffer, I will never leave that filth alone, my reasons are my own, reasons you cannot comprehend, you haven't been using your brain that well these days, accepting muggles is proof of that." He said calmly. "I don't need your friendship nor the friendship of Godric and Helga, we are not friends anymore, we will never get back to our teenage years, it will not work anymore." He said calmly. "Your blind trust on mudbloods made sure of that."
Salazar looked at her calmly, nodding. "You always like french people, you've been spending too much time with Helga and her idiot of a treasure hunting lover." He said shaking his head. "She wastes her greatness if you ask me." He said and nodded, he listened. "I'd only want Durmstrang to win if our champion is a filthy mudblood, don't forget that Rowena.. hmm... more tea?" He asked as he looked at her calmly.

Rowena raised an eyebrow, looking at Salazar, rather amused by his words. She knew him very well and to be honest, he had always been rather strange. He had actually always been a mystery to the rest of them. "So, you are keeping secrets from us, then?" there was a small smile on her face, but she didn't seem particularly pleased with the direction their conversation had taken. When he mentioned her late husband, Rowena narrowed her eyes and looked at Salazar breathing heavily. "How dare you, Salazar?!" not only that he was hurting her, but he was also saying lies - she had loved her husband, his death had nearly destroyed her too. Unfortunately, the men who had killed him had never been caught. As though they had vanished into thin air. Rowena decided to ignore his question about cookies.
The dark haired witch frowned at the wizard before her. He could be so annoying at times and he was often behaving like a child, a spoiled brat. "Stop being such a child, Salazar!" she nearly yelled at him. "I have no reason to hate Muggles, for they have never done anything to me. My husband was killed by wizards, not by Muggles. And if you have some issues with the Muggles - well, I don't care, unless you tell us what exactly is bothering you!" Rowena was quite sad when he repeated that he didn't consider them friends anymore. How could he be so stubborn?
Ravenclaw just shook her head at Salazar's words about Helga and her betrothed. "She loves him and that is enough! It was her choice and it has nothing to do with either of us!" Rowena rolled her eyes. "Well, you see, Salazar, you may choose the champion to represent Slytherin. I have already told you that, but you are never listening to me!" Rowena just nodded her head; tea and cookies weren't important, but Salazar kept asking those questions, only to annoy her.

"Of course, I seem to be the only one smart enough to keep secrets, a fair share of secrets is always healthy specially my secrets." He said calmly as he looked at her. He was amused at how easy it was to annoy Rowena, or even make her feel horrible. He just stared at her intensely like if he was reading her emotions like if he was reading her thoughts. "Vanishing into thin air is just an excuse, you never went after them, never had that desire to stop them, which is where we are both different my dear." He said, Salazar did hunt down the murderers of his wife and slaughtered them..them and their family, he looked away for awhile lost in his thoughts.
He took a bite from the cookie still lost in his thoughts. Hearing her calmly as he kept eating the cookie, it was true that her husband was killed by wizards, he sighed calmly, taking a sip of his tea and remaining silent for a while until he finally started looking at Rowena and talking to her. "You never went after them, you abandoned the search completely, you are weak Rowena.. so fast to abandon." He said shaking his head. "I thought you'd be smarter than that."
He listened to her about the champions. "I will but only one will be chosen no? Either way I might not be attending it, going to need a trip to some place first, got important things to do." He said nodding calmly. "You sure you don't want more cookies, they are quite good and I can't finish them on my own."

"Salazar..." Rowena said weakly. He was not only annoying her, he was very tiring to talk to. She had never considered him unintelligent, but wise person wouldn't brag with their intelligence. Rowena shook her head; Salazar only knew a part of the story, the part she had decided to tell him and everyone else. After all, he didn't know her husband, not as well as she knew him. Oh, if he only knew... However, something he said made Rowena raise an eyebrow suspiciously. "What are you talking about, Salazar? You have no idea what it's like to..." Rowena shook her head again. "We are different in many ways, Salazar. I don't know what you're aiming at."
Rowena was waiting patiently for Salazar to start speaking again. But when he started speaking, she wished that he hadn't. "Salazar, just leave it, please. I am not weak, but you have no idea what happened when..." Rowena sighed and looked sadly at Salazar. "I've been wanting to tell you, all of you... I guess I haven't made a mistake, you don't deserve to know the truth." Rowena was hurt and it was clearly visible on her face and it could be heard in her voice.
"Oh, Salazar, do you ever pay attention to what I'm saying?" Rowena spoke in her well known annoyed manner. She was resembling her old self more now. "Each school has a team of four champions. Each house has one champion." she explained, as though talking to a child. "Of course, you have some important things to do. And this is not important anymore, we are not important anymore." Rowena felt sad and betrayed, but she just bit her lip without saying anything about it. "If you can't finish them on your own, then give them to someone important." Rowena hissed, putting deliberate emphasis on the last word.
