The sun's rays were now blocked out of Darius' position by the tall shield of trees that was the Forbidden Forest. Although the forest was a constant pondering point for the strange creature, he was more interested in the students today. Every grinning face that passed him drove his torment on. He knew that his last year in this school was quickly running out. If he went back home, his father who despised what he was, would surely kill him. Darius was not as foolish as his father thought he was.
It had been a Hogsmeade weekend, and now the sun light was almost completely hidden behind the rest of the world. Darius scratched his ear irritantly. It was then that he noticed the girl, he could not plausibly deny that it was her beauty that drew his gaze. Even though that was the last thing about her that he was interested about. He knew the path that his new 'friend' would take to the forest, knew that she would be so distraught about maiming another student. He could only guess that the girl he had just chosen would be just as upset. He leapt down from the pillar he had been seated upon. His legs did not buckle with the force of his weight landing.
"I could not help but take notice of your astonishing appearance in the waning sunlight." He had landed right next to his victim. Or rather, Kynthia's victim. As he caught her attention, a faint resistance to this bloodlust came to Darius' mind. He ignored it and grinned handsomely despite his plot of her murder. Darius raised an eyebrow as one of Abigail's friends stepped forward to confront him, but made no other sign that he even noticed the foolish girl.

The absence of the sun seemed to have a less invited effect upon Abigail. Although it supplanted a day of browsing and mingling's fatigue with a new vigour, it was not a feeling she welcomed. By now there were those who were aware she was a veela, but she had explained untruthfully that she was only half veela. Carrying on the lie that her father started out of his own arrogance. The night sky, with its stars and bright moon, brought to life the spirit Abigail hid from the rest of the school.
She was whispering gently to her three cohorts that they should hurry inside when the Hufflepuff boy leapt from his perch. She had spotted him earlier, of course, but had only paid any heed because of the choice of his lounging area. She had seen him a few times, but had never so much as acquainted with him. "Hullo, dear." Abigail did not flinch from him, she was never shy. "So kind of you, sir." Abigail hurried her statement to interrupt even as he friend looked ready to attack the boy.
Abigail took notice of Darius' boldness, she found it encouraging. Her friends were obviously upset that he had failed to compliment them as well. As Abigail watched Darius, it was plain to see that he was utterly uninterested in them. She could sometimes be the same way. "Why haven't we met sooner?" Abigail could feel the patience of the other girls being strained. She delighted in torturing them in such ways however.

Darius' eyes were drawn to the girl who had approached him without being addressed, though his head did not move. He wondered if she was not a better candidate for a moment. But then the human he had addressed spoke up. His gaze was instantly retrieved by her. He did find it hard to ignore her for some reason. Perhaps it was fate. Darius grinned widely to himself. Such a cruel fate.
"Possibly because I did not exist in the form I now take." Darius never lied but he never told the entire truth either. "That doesn't matter however. You did not mean to pose a question but a statement. And I thank you for the compliment."
Darius bowed his head to the girl then rose again slowly. "I am called Darius Valentinus. Perhaps the name is more familiar than the face?"

Kynthia began to whimper softly as the darkness closed in around her. She began to wonder how many hours or days she had been bound here. She could already hear others turning in anticipation of the full moon. Her body shivered of its own accord. They were not so close that she could hear, but she could feel them. Was she meant to die here? Or was he planning something worse.
Face down upon the mossy wooden floor, Kynthia crawled toward the ring that the iron chain that bound her arm. She left a trail of blood as she crawled. She did not even recall his name. She rolled over onto her back and raised a hand to the ring that was attatched to a solid wooden beam of wood that would have normally held up a full house. The opposite side of the house was completely missing. Kynthia was very much outside rather than inside. Despite having woken on a bed nearby. The bed seemed to have been an addition that that boy had made. Kynthia pulled at the ring with all the might she could muster but it was for naught. Her binding would not give way. She let her hand fall onto her chest and she continued to whimper pathetically.

Abigail chuckled at the way he spoke. It was so obvious that he was trying to impress. Though not so hard since it was always obvious he did not need to. He held a confidence most other boys did not, she really liked that. "Quite a mouthful, that name. Do you mind if I call you Darius?"
Abigail's friends sighed and began to continue on toward the castle. One of them called back, "We'll see you in the tower!" The others too insulted to even look back as Abigail returned a soft, "Good bye."

Darius' grin widened as the other girls reacted to Abigail's attraction. Had he been born human, he might have had fun with the lot of them. Then again, perhaps there would be time to accomplish that yet. "I don't mind at all. Though I'd very much like to know what I should call you." Darius glanced back at the castle. He only hoped that none of the staff had took notice of the wolf-girls dissappearance. It was nearly a week ago now he had abducted her. At first he was unsure what to even do with her. But since taking her hostage, he had built his confidence quite high. He had had alot of fun playing with her. But she was a bore by now. Perhaps Darius was like his father after all? "They seem nice."

"Abigail Alize." Abigail smiled and stepped closer to Darius. She stared at his hair; it seemed perfect to her. She glanced back quickly, turning her hips and head. "Yeah. They're great." She turned back to Darius quickly. She wondered if he had been waiting the entire day for her.

Darius chuckled lightly at her name. "Miss Alize, is it? That is quite a bit easier than my own." Darius took noticed of her step and he closed the rest of the distance with her and placed an arm around her back. "A fine name it is. For a fine lady." Darius smiled and began to walk her toward the forest. "You don't mind if we go for a stroll, do you? I've always preferred to walk at dusk. Can't get me to go anywhere in broad daylight." Darius grinned at the subtle hint.

It seemed strange to her that his body did nothing to keep back the chill of the night. In fact, it seemed to intensify it. Despite this, she smiled back and replied kindly, "Abigail, please. Call me Abigail." She did find it a tad annoying that he presumed that she would want to walk with him. Though it was true that she did. "Thank you, Sir Darius." Abigail did not take notice that he had steered them toward the forest. She cared for the darkness that began to envelop them as much as she cared for the chill. All of her attention was on Darius; quite a strange turn of events for a Veela. "The night. Is so much more inviting. The stars. Where are they?" Abigail had looked up. Though only darkness was above them.

Darius was growing angry. It was not fair. He could see her but he could not feel her. She held his attention, but there was no feeling behind it. Yet there she was, falling for him. He could tell that she was growing very excited. Feeling emotions that he never could. "Miss Abigail. I must admit, I am smitten." Despite his rising anger, Darius showed no trace of it. She seemed to lose her wits as she began to drone on. Darius pretended to hang on every word. "I have consumed them." Now within the forest, above them the faint stars were hard to see through the canopy. Darius stopped and stepped in front of Abigail, he took her jaw in his hand and kissed her.

Abigail was drawn into Darius' intimacy initially. Though as they kissed, she began to wonder about how he had responded to her query. It seemed a strange thing to say; even for someone like him. Abigail pushed Darius away and took a step away from him. She noticed a faint trace of anger in his eyes. With a sigh, she glanced about her and realized she was within the forest. Though, to be honest she had no idea how far or which way they had come. "I'd like to return to the castle now."

Darius frowned when Abigail broke their moment. He did his best to keep the anger out of his expression but it was insurmountable now. He whispered so that she would not hear as she was getting her bearing, "As I will you."
Darius sighed with annoyance. "I do not remember the way to the castle. Your aura is much too distracting." There was a heavy hint of accusation in his tone. He was now so angry that hiding it was not even a thought. "I believe it was that way." He pointed toward the place he had kept his previous victim.

Abigail watched as the faint trace became full in Darius' expression. She furrowed her brow in indignation at his tone of accusation. He seemed to be getting even more upset by the second. "Aren't you coming?" Abigail crossed her arms defensively.

Darius shook his head and turned away from Abigail. He walked to a small tree and leaned against the trunk. He turned his head and responded calmly, "I don't think we've gone far. You should be safe." He shot his glance back toward the way he was facing. As he began to fill a pipe, he began to mutter to himself darkly.

Abigail watched Darius' back silently for a moment. She wondered if he would still be like this in the morning or if he would understand. She was certain that they hadn't come far. Though she wondered if Darius could apparate; she dismissed the idea of foul play immediately. He had been such a gentleman. He could not have possibly lead her astray. Though quite unsure, she began to walk in the direction Darius had indicated.
Abigail stopped and looked back after a moment. Darius was still brooding beside the tree. She sighed and continued on. Though it was some time before she say anything besides bark and foliage. She saw the small demolished house. It looked as though a giant had made off with half of it as it was nowhere to be seen. She had just resolved to head back toward Darius when Abigail heard a faint whimper come from pathetic looking structure.
With another sigh, Abigail ran toward the whimpering and stopped before a horrific sight. A girl was bound to the wall, bloody and battered. Abigail rushed foward and knelt beside the Hufflepuff student. "Stay calm." She looked around her and then rose to her feet again. Abigail tapped the iron with her wand and it released its hold on Kynthia.
