Alfie lay in his cold bath quietly, undisturbed by the rabble outside. The night was threatening to be a dark one with a cast of cloud rolling in steadily overtaking the setting sun. Though the air was eerily stagnant.
Alfie's escape from the castle had been quite an epic fight. He had to admit that even with his extensive knowledge it was a feat to escape the grounds undetected. Not even Rowena knew he had escaped from the castle on Council business. He had agreed to stop working on Dark Arts, but the Council itself wasn't only about the Dark Arts. And the Elder Wand could not be trusted within the hands of the unknown. It must at the very least be tracked as well as possible. According to coded messages, Alfie's fellow Council member Grindelwald had found information on the boy who had accosted him. Alfie himself was still certain the kid was an agent of Salazar's.
A knock came at the door. Alfie heard the call of one of the barmaids from outside relaying that Gordon had arrived. Alfie called back an affirmation and rose out of the bath. He dried himself swiftly and put on a new set of clothes swiftly. As usual, he eschewed the practice of wearing robes for a decent tailored suit.
Once dressed, Alfie left the washroom to the small room he had reserved weeks in advance and went to the front door. He opened it just as Gordon came into view in the doorway. "My friend, come in. Come in." Stepping back to allow room for Gordon to enter unopposed, Alfie extended a hand to Gordon with mirth.

Gordon apparated to Hogsmeade, looking around, it's been a while, he hoped Alfie received his coded message, hopefully he also managed to get away from Hogwarts undetected, it would be bad if others learned about this, he sighed calmly, how was he supposed to tell him. Gordon spent months trying to uncover the identity Alfie's attacker and yet what he found wasn't something he expected, he walked in circles on the street trying to find a good way to tell him. He eventually made his way toward the place Alfie reserved.
He knocked at the door, waiting for a few minutes until the door was opened, he took off his hat and bowed his head before getting in. "It is good to see you again my friend." He said, shaking his hand. He gave a little sigh though looking behind him before closing the door, locking it and casting a spell so others wouldn't be able to hear him. He put the wand back in his pocket.
"I got news about your attacker.. news that you won't like.." He said as he looked at Alfie. "Though first... how is it going as a headmaster?" He said, noticing that his friend and fellow council member preferred wearing suits rather than robes, at least that didn't change. "I got samples of his blood as well...you'll understand better with it."

Alfie grinned and chuckled at Gordon's caution. Even without the Elder Wand, Alfie was not very liberal where the the security of the Council was concerned. He had always been amused by the show the others put on to keep the Council a secret. It was almost as though they saw themselves as religous zealots. Even in his most serious, dark Council days; Alfie only saw the Council as a means to get himself closer to the Deathly Hallows. Now he just wanted to help the Council secure the Elder Wand for someone who could be trusted; whether that be Gordon, himself or one of their order.
"Ugh. It's horrible. The professors are vain, mutinous individuals. Gryffindor is off keeping Goblins from getting themselves killed. Slytherin doesn't appreciate the position of headmaster. A pity, he was once so useful to me and the Council." Alfie sighed. "Its been so hectic, I've wondered if I should resign. Rowena wouldn't like that. But it does seem as though I'm just dead weight at times." Alfie narrowed his eyes. "Ah. I see. So you've found a way of connecting his relations to Salazar then, I knew it was so. The students have told me he can know what you're thinking just by looking into your eyes. I had thought my Occlumens was enough to keep him at bay. Obviously not."

"It's best if they do not hear our conversations...it could tarnish your reputation." He said as he looked at her, not really being a council matter. He looked at his friend and just chuckled that did sound like him, though why was Salazar so against it? He shrugged it off though as he looked around cautiously, no one was here, that was good, he looked at him with a puzzled look when he mentioned relations to Salazar.
"I am afraid that it's not Salazar he has relations with... it's with someone else.." He said calmly, touching his mustache and looking away. "You might want to sit down...and get something strong to drink my friend...you are not gonna like the news.. not one bit..." He said as he sighed calmly. "The person he has relations with...well.." He said though remaining a bit silent, making sure to pour fire whiskey on both glasses as he sighed, how was he supposed to tell him? Gordon already downed his drink, looking away for a moment, he sighed. "It is bad news... I took a sample of your blood...and managed to gather samples of his blood..with the use of..well alchemy and a parchment to know the outcome.. well.." He said calmly as he looked away and sighed, pouring another drink in his glass and downing it.

Alfie grinned at the comment Gordon made. He had obviously guessed what Alfie had been thinking. Though he was no longer amused by Gordon's habits but by his own. "My dear friend, after all this time. All the moments you've seen me throw caution to the wind where my reputation is concerned and you still think of my reputation. I'm absolutely touched."
Alfie thought that Gordon was overreacting. He sat down as Gordy had instructed. It was a lot more comfortable than standing anyway. He then took the glass and drank the fire whiskey heartily. "Indeed. It is good to enjoy some pleasantries before business they always say. I've never found it particularly useful in my business." When Gordon began to reveal his work, Alfie listened calmly and intently. "Most extraordinary. I would have never thought to do that. It all makes sense now, my father is behind the attack. But my father was never famed for his transfiguring abilities and as far as I know he is no metamorphagus." Alfie tried every scenario he could think of to place his father at the scene. He began to mutter to himself. "Father always hated Polyjuice. No, he wouldn't have hidden his face at all if it had been him." Alfie raised an eyebrow and gazed across the room at Gordon. He had just realized something that he had forgotten long before now; his abandoned child. "What have you concluded, Gordon?" He asked warily, almost as though he didn't want to know the answer.

Gordon looked at Alfie, always finding him peculiar and such a strange person but it was still interesting, all that paranoia and mystery surrounding him. He poured some more whiskey for himself as his friend tried to connect it, though with some paranoia in his theories since Gordon never mentioned his father. He sighed calmly as he heard him mutter to himself, though looking at him when he asked what he concluded, he could tell his friend was suspecting something now.
"There is a match in your blood and his.." He said calmly and sighed, pulling out the parchments with the traces of the experiment. "He is your son." He finally said, as he drank his fire whiskey slowly. "That is why I didn't want others to hear.. it's better to keep it secret from your colleagues in Hogwarts." he said as he took another sip of his whiskey. "What do you want to do about it now, still want me to hunt the boy down?"

Alfie stared at the parchment Gordon showed him. The results were undeniable. Alfie had been present when Gordon devised the experiment, he knew how to read the results. Alfie kept staring at the results, hoping that they would change to more favourable results. His memories came back; Heseret, his first love. The day their son was born. The quiet life they lived. Until his father showed up and sucked the blood from it and left only venom in it's absence.
"I think, I should tell you a story." Alfie was considerably less robust now. He looked thinner and sat nearly motionless. He put his glass down on the table in front of them. "Before I joined the Council, I was a rebellious boy. My father was always the respectable pureblood he was. When I grew of age, I thought I'd rid myself of him. I fled as far as I thought he would not be able to follow. In Egypt, I met a deposed King of sorts. I aided him in a struggle he had with foriegners in his land. When I saw his daughter she was the most beautiful woman I would ever see. The problem was that she was already married, of course. She even had a child of her own. Regardless, I charmed her and we fled Egypt. Our boy, our star. We had a child but no sooner had he been born than my father caught up to me. He told my dear father-in-law where we were. Furious, the man killed her on sight. I had been hidden. But when I saw that happen to her, I fell into a rage. Throwing caution to the wind I stepped forward and slew him. His cohorts as well. I left none alive. My father, the traitor waited until my rage had ended and I was grieving her before he appeared. I was weak. He commanded me to kill the boy, but I couldn't. I abandoned him. I already spared the child from my wand before."
Alfie took in a long breath. With sagging shoulders he thought of Rowena and Heseret. One dead, the other living. Should he send the boy to his mother? Would she forgive him? Alfie's brow furrowed and he shook his head. "I cannot allow you to kill the lad. You may take the wand from him. But if you slay him or I found out you harm him, you and I will be enemies." Alfie glared at Gordon coldly. "If you can successfully acquire the wand, we will negotiate the use of the artifact between us. The rest of the Council need not be privy to this information."

Gordon remained silent, listening to the tale of his friend, he was grateful that he shared this sad tale with him, they were friends at least he saw him that way, he sighed calmly. It must have been difficult for him. He kept looking at his friend, the more he was telling his story the more he seemed weakened, once he was done he just nodded calmly. Wondering what he was thinking about. He didn't say anything though listened to him as he could see his cold glare.
"Already done my friend.. you know me..I don't want the wand." He said calmly, he knew how much pain it caused to people. "You know me, I stay in the shadows, even if I wanted it would be impossible to fight him by myself.. Alfie your son is growing in power, he has a few puppets in the wizard council. He is planning something." He finally said as he looked at his friends. "You know I'm loyal to you and not the other council members.. however.. some council members want to use your son...some fell to corruption...I am afraid...we are the only remaining council members."
