A bit of history:
Morgana, Brutus and Caractacus were childhood friends, all were born within the same month of the same year which they found some signifigance in. Caractacus had always had a love for Morgana, but Brutus was a much stronger wizard. Even though Morgana knew Brutus cared little for her, she choose him over Caractacus at the age of 18. Brutus simply needed a suitable mate to carry on his name. Morgana was happy as Brutus' wife, the Malfoy was born into wealth and influence and that is all Morgana needed. They had a son at age 19, Leonic, which angered Caractacus(still unmarried). Although it can't be proven, Caractacus butchered Brutus and then forced Morgana to marry him. When Damien was born his parents now 25, Caractacus tried to murder Brutus' son, Leonic. Morgana was able to prevent him from that goal however, with the help of a new lover. Her cousin, Orion Black, who'd just turned 18, helped her to kill Caractacus Burke after they'd overheard the commotion he was making in his attempt to get at Leonic. Two years after that event, Alsciaukat was born. Her birth angered the Black family, who considered it an insult that Morgana had bore two sons for unworthy houses before. Orion tried to defend his wife, but his family's act had sealed his fate. Morgana administered a poison to Orion's breakfast one morn. Orion perished and his head had been sent to the Black family patriarch before lunch. Before the Black family could react, the Gaunts at Mavado's urging stepped forward to lend Morgana some protection from them. Mavado remains Morgana's husband and they have had two children, a boy and a girl. Nerosoldato and Morgana. Regardless, Morgana's enmity with the Black clan led to the eventual abandonment of her apothecary in Knockturn Alley. Morgana and Mavado removed themselves from London and moved to Hogsmeade. Morgana hasn't spoken to her mother since the incident with Orion Black. Although she denies it, some say that Morgana actually only moved from London to Hogsmeade to entrap young pure blood males attending the new Hogwarts school against their parent's wills. Nevertheless, the antics of Morgana Gorlois seem to correlate with growing animosity from other pure bloods to the Gaunt family: the Gaunts seem to be gaining very little wealth but losing lots of it.
The children:
Brutus wasn't born in time to attend Hogwarts, but has been accepted as an honorary Slytherin alumni member. Brutus is arrogant and thinks lowly of his other siblings and their families. Brutus is favored by both his mother and the Malfoys. Brutus works as a seeker of the Death Stick mostly but also hunts other magical artifacts.
Damien is in his seventh year in Hogwarts, attending as a Slytherin student. He is only on speaking terms with one of his siblings, Alsciaukat Black. The others he openly despises. Damien doesn't like his mother because she does not like him very much. Damien has several heated disputes with Mavado Gaunt.
Alsciaukat Lycoris Black or 'Kat', Undoubtedly the most hated of all Morgana's children by her. The two cannot be within the same room without quarrelling. Morgana hates Kat so much because of the embarrasment the girl caused her for not being born a male.
Nerosoldato, Morgana does not trust Nero very much. She ignored him mostly as a child. And as a teen, he mostly creeps her out. He does not seem very strong in her opinion as he decided to master her field of Potions, which Morgana views as a witch's job, instead of the Dark Arts.
Morgana Hydra Gaunt. Morgana's last child and named after her. Although she is Morgana's favorite after her first born, Leonic, Morgana feels a certain reluctance or regret when interacting with her youngest which she cannot understand. Truthfully reluctant because she is somewhat aware that she is not her real daughter. And regret that she could not have given her first daughter, Alsciaukat, a real chance because of how the other Blacks reacted to her birth. She denies both and usually ignores the feelings however.
