Auriga was curled up in her favourite arm chair, with her knees held tightly against her chest and her chin resting on her knee caps. She inhaled loudly and stared into the dying flames within the fire place. Auri felt annoyed... frustrated... cast aside. Tiberius was more concerned about his looks than about herself. She knew she should not seek love in a pure blood union, but Auriga expected caring and mutual interest. She released her hold on her knees and tugged her legs firmly beneath her body before casting a look around the common room. She was not yet ready to let go off Tiberius. However, she needed to explore other paths. Auriga would rather die a spinster than have her father pick her a groom. He of course knew what was best for his daughter but unfortunately he also believed that her future husband did not necessarily need to be charming as long as he had pure blood running through his veins.

Nero had come across an obstacle of late. He wasn't fully aware of it until recently, but the information his father had given him on the politics of the current times was seen as a bit of a bad subject for some people. Nero was not wholly perturbed by this revelation. Most of those who saw his actions as deplorable were undesireables. Nero did not care for their company in the least. Weak people, who could not see the truth before their very eyes, were unworthy witnesses to Nero's glory.
He would not stop, Nero thought, as he came upon the entrance to the Slytherin Common Room. Nero uttered, "Basilisk," at the wall. The wall opened for him, revealing the Common Room. The most grand of Common Rooms in the castle, he had guessed. And built for him. Nero strode forward confidently.
He didn't expect anyone to be awake, so he quickly jumped the steps without looking out for anyone. When he landed he noticed Auriga sitting in an arm chair. She was seated in a very strange manner. He did not understand girls could sit like that. Just the thought of it made him uncomfortable. Nero stared at Auriga silently for a moment before he smiled. "I know you. You should probably know, I tried to follow you around before." Nero no longer cared what she thought. He was only interested in proving to people that he didn't care what they thought about him. "I bet you weren't nearly clever enough to know that!" Nero chuckled to himself.
Nero then turned away from Auriga and began examining himself in a mirror. He made sure his black robe was free of dust. There was a gnome in the mirror's image that kept throwing dust onto the mirror Nero however. "Useless." Nero scoffed and began to stride toward the boy's dorms. He stopped and glanced over toward Auriga again. Wondering if he should try to pester her more.

The portrait hole swung open and Nero Gaunt jumped inside the common room. Auriga gasped softly and watched him with a perfectly plucked raised eye brow. Auri gave him a quizzical look and started laughing at his words, thinking how pathetic he sounded. "I know you too Nero. You almost pucked all over my new shoes the other night." Her smile faded from her face when he said he had been following her. Auriga felt flattered and invaded at the same time. She frowned at Nero and watched him move towards the stairs leading to the boy's dorm.
She hmphed loudly and looked away, expecting to hear the familiar clinking noise of shoes against marble. When it didn't come, Auriga slowly turned her head towards Nero. She watched him in silence for a second or so, thinking to herself. Well... he was a pureblood. One her father would approve of. Auriga untangled her feet from underneath her and stood up slowly. She kept her eyes fixed onto Nero and stepped a couple of paces forwards while saying, "Would you care to keep me company?" Auriga stopped in her tracks and folded her arms behind her back.

Nero pretended to think for a moment. He had already decided that he would stay with Auriga though. He only needed time to prepare an excuse. "Right. About that, I accidentally drank one of my poisons. That nosy Gryffindor made me drink it." Nero's tone seemed as though it could not decide whether it should be friendly or combative with Auriga. He stepped over to one of the Common Room's elegant sofas and sat across from Auriga. "I've been thinking. And that Gryffindor is either cleverer than Slytherin or madder than a Muggle. I think he knew it was a poison, and that I could cure it easily. And that he made me waste months of work." Nero looked down at the floor. "Would have been my first real kill. Outside of animals and such." Nero shrugged. "What do you think of Professor Gryffindor?"

As soon as Nero sat down, Auriga turned on her heel and plopped back in her seat. She leaned forwards with her hands resting on her knees listening to what the other Slytherin had to say. As he started speaking about poisons and Gryffindor, Auri straightened her back and looked at him with a raised eye brow. Nonetheless, she had to admit she was impressed with his skills to create an antidote for the poison. Auri said as much to him and added flirtatiously, "I think a man who knows his potions is very attractive." She smiled at Nero and leaned back against the arm chair. Auri folded one leg over the other. "I do not like him much," she replied dryly.

Nero looked at Auriga with an open mouth and wide eyes. He looked from left to right warily. Nero did not doubt his attractiveness, but he had learned never to drop his guard. Nero sat and pretended to make himself comfortable against the back of the sofa. "Yeah." Nero agreed. "He is not very pleasant." Nero scratched his hair nervously. He wondered if he was as boring as people said he was. Then he shrugged. "I am decent at curses as well. Potions isn't the only thing I can do, I mean." Nero scratched his cheek lazily. He had never actually cared to sit down and talk to another student seriously before. No one really caught his attention very well. "What are you going to do? After school, I mean?" Nero turned his head away from Auriga a slight but kept his gaze on her.

Auri giggled softly at his reaction and leaned further forwards in her seat, watching him closely. She nodded her head in agreement when he spoke about his feelings regarding Gryffindor and said, "I think Slytherin is the best out of the four. I am be biased but frankly... I do not care." Her smile widened as he started bragging about his abilities. "Oh curses. That is brilliant Nero. Can you show me one of these days?" she purred softly. His next question caught her off guard. Auriga stared into the fire and said with a shrug, "I will get married and produce my husband with many heirs." She paused and turned back to look at him before admitting, "I would like to have a job... something... something that is worthwhile and will leave an impact. However, mother always says that once married I will be bound to my husband and there will be no time to play around with a job." Auriga sighed softly and pouted slightly for a second or two. She then looked at Nero with a fake smile and asked brightly, "What about you? What are your dreams Nero?"

Nero smiled. He didn't like Slytherin personally, but between the four founders, he had to agree that he was the most favourable. Beyond killing them, Nero really had little interest in them however. "Hmm. Perhaps I can show you some curses. If you are good." Nero had never really been worried about having an heir. He did not think of his own death. He knew that he would never die. He grinned as he began to reply, "I wont need an heir. Me? I will continue learning magic and I will start an institution whose business it is to tell other wizards and witches how to run their own business. It will need a very legitimate and powerful name. Anyway, I'll kill all the other dark wizards and tell the wizarding community that they should invest themselves in my institution so that I can make sure no dark wizard rises to power ever again." Nero nearly laughed with excitement. "It is foolproof. They will never suspect that I am evil. They will think that I'm their friend, their guardian! Fools!" Nero seemed alot less wary now. He yawned.

If you are good. His words rang in her ears and she fought the urge to raise her eye brow and snap at him. Nonetheless she smiled at him and said, "I promise I will be good... very good." Auriga was not impressed by his plan. Maybe she did not believe him... or maybe she was jealous because he had a chance of achieving his dreams. "That sounds thrilling Nero." She moved back in her chair and questioned, "Why don't you want an heir? Don't you want to get married?"

Nero had always assumed that he was superior to everyone else. He, unlike many other Slytherin students, never got into trouble. All of his victims were dead. He left no witnesses. And when he could not make, those who should be, dead, they were too scared or too proud to speak out against them. It also helped that as he pointed out, Nero's targets were not actually innocents. But people like his own brother. Who had more reason to keep their dealings secret than Nero did. "That is strange. I hadn't expected you to be so... open." Nero rested his head against the back of the sofa, "Hmmm."
Nero chuckled again. This time at Nero. "It is simple, isn't it? I will never die. I have no need for an heir. I've already got a plan. But it is a complex process. The slightest mistake could have disastrous results. It would take many years to achieve immortality. But, I can wait." Nero bit his lip, pondering the other question. He had never actually thought about getting married. He had thought about girls, yes. But marriage itself had never entered those thoughts. "Perhaps. I would not really care for the ceremony though. I would not care for making any brats either. I know what a mess over-producing can cause."
