Walking three times past the portrait, Roxanna gained access into the Room of Requirement, she walked through pushing the door, but not fully to a close, the door remained slightly open. Roxanna sat, on a sofa the room had provided her with, just staring blankly, a letter sat beside her.
She thought of her younger brother who had not had his chance to live life, only a year had passed since her brothers unexpected demise had occurred. Her family thought it was simply an accident, but Roxanna knew better. She had seen the look on her grandfathers face, and heard his voice clearly say "Depulso" pushing the boy back down the stairs, landing in a tangled mess, the worst bit was that Harvey had still been alive, for a while. A tear ran down her cheek, but she quickly wiped it up. She forced a smile and stood. She walked over to the 'window' and admired the scene the room had provided her with. She stood tall and anxious. She ran her hand through her hair, a thing she did constantly.
Her eyes swept around the room, she walked to the sofa again, and curled herself up. With her legs drawn to her chest and her arms wrapped around them. Looking as though she was protecting herself. She looked at the letter beside her. It was from her grandfather. She was terrified of her grandfather, her family knew something was up as she refused to call him grandpa or even talk to him much anymore, only Charles, his given name. She wouldn't tell them much to her family's displeasure. The letter had said Dear Roxanna,
You have displeased me, your insolence has caused your mother great upset, and you would do well to talk with me again. Maybe I can help you forget the incident involving your brother. We all know it was an accident that he died, he simply tripped and fell, it is most common. She paused in her reading. The arrogance he had, it was most definitely not an accident. She knew that by helping to forget would mean he would remove her memory of that day. It would be better for all of us if you let go of his memory that you hold so dearly, so that you can heal and get over this insane grief of yours. It is a cloud that hangs over our family, and needs to pass on. You are a insolent and horrible young lady. Ladys do not hold grudges, especially on their own family. You would find great comfort in letting me back into your life. You have defied me one to many times now.
Yours Sincerly, Grandpa Charles She felt so empty at his words, felt nothing, she could not stand him, so took no offense from written or spoken words. Hearing the door creak open again, she jumped up startled, the letter falling to her feet. She watched the figure, forgetting about the piece of paper at her feet.
