Gordon apparated to this wizards house, it was indeed a sight to behold but he did not care about this. It seemed like the streets were quiet, and he suspected there would be more guards this time, he heard about an attempted robbery after all. Gordon just sighed, making sure no one would see this by putting a powerful charm spell to block the muggles to view what's going on, they would only have nausea when coming close to this house. "Confringo" Gordon said his wand pointed at the door, the explosion propelled the cracking, the debris crashing hard on a guard, as he approached creating a slash on his hand with his wand, he lifted that same hand, blood coming out of it and going on the multiple guards, he just muttered a couple of words for the blood to take effect, the guards were incapacitated, the weak ones would die, he did not care as he swiftly made his way upstairs to the room. Gordon was wearing a rather elegant coat and he wanted to keep it intact and to avoid unneeded duels

It was supposed to be a quiet night for the Cartier family and their neighborhood. Madame Clémence Cartier was laying in the bed, next to her husband and staring blankly at the ceiling. She couldn't sleep and she had a feeling that something might happen. Strange noise from the ground floor made her stand up and grab her wand. She heard footsteps on the stairs and waited patiently for the visitor, pointing her wand at the door. The man who entered the room looked far more elegant than a robber and Clémence had no idea what he was doing in her house. "Who are you?" she asked, raising her wand.

When Gordon reached the room, he just looked at Clemence for a while his wand raised at him, it seemed like he'd be doing nothing but he non-verbally casted expelliarmus at her and eventually his wand pointed at her husband who just woke up. "Avada Kedavra" The green light hit the man on the chest killing him, it was a clean death he then approached the woman just to take her wand, he eventually snapped her wand in two, Gordon didn't like surprises as he looked at her, taking off his hat. "Pardon me madam, all of this is necessary, you see.. you have a stone that my associates and I want..."

Clémence screamed when the green light struck her husband and killed him. When the murderer took her wand and snapped it in two, she tried to move backwards, far from him, but stopped when her back hit the wall. "You can take whatever you want, but please don't kill me!" Her husband's death wasn't such a great loss, he was old after all, but she was still young and had a daughter who needed her. And someone had to take care of her husband's gold now that he was gone. Clémence sat down on the floor, shocked by his strange behavior. He was a gentleman and a murderer, and that wasn't something you saw every day.

"Madam I am looking for an important stone, you are in the possession of an odd stone. I need it. Gordon looked at her calmly, hopefully she would help, he still hold his hat, bowing his head slightly as he approached her and scanned around the room for the stone. "Please madam, don't be afraid, I will not hurt you, I will only hurt you if you leave me no choice, so please could you help me find this stone?"

Clémence just sat on the floor, staring blankly at the man. "I don't know what you're talking about." she finally spoke. Her husband never told her anything about any stone. "Take whatever you want and leave, s'il vous plaît..." Clémence took a deep breath, trying to think of a way to help him find the stone and leave. "It could be anywhere, it could be in his vault in Gringotts... I don't know. What does it look like?" she asked.

"Ah of course madam pardon me." Gordon said searching in his pockets eventually taking a folded parchment which he unfolded, showing to her the symbol of the deathly hallows, he heard the stone should be having the same symbol. Gordon merely looked at the woman, hoping she would help and not force his hand to kill her "Also madam let's keep this civilized and a secret.. you wouldn't want to join him now would you?"

Clémence stood up and walked to him, taking the parchment from his hand. She stared at the symbol for a couple of moments before raising her gaze to meet his. "So, if I find the stone, then you will leave, as if nothing happened?" she asked with narrowed eyes. "You will leave my family alone and walk away..." He seemed to be a gentleman, so it was hardly believable that he would try to do something to Odette, but she had to be sure.

"Madam if I wanted you dead, I would of killed you right now, now please help me find this troublesome stone and I promise I will leave you alone." Gordon said sounding rather annoyed at the moment as he looked Clemence in the eyes, wondering when she would start helping, if she kept doing this he would be forced to kill her. "Now Madam, before I have to do something regretful."

Clémence just stared at Gordon for some time and then she sighed and nodded her head. She glanced at her husband's dead body, it made her feel sick. "My husband has... had a ring that he never took off. It's still on his finger. There is a symbol on it, similar to the one on your drawing. I think that's the stone you've been looking for." Clémence made a step backwards, as if she was trying to get away from him.

He approached the old man, and just had to put his hand on his nose to block his nostril, how disgusting this man's odor was, he looked at Clemence wondering if she was insane, to love such a disgusting man. He put on his black gloves as he took the ring off the finger and looked at it, he smiled, putting it in his pockets, as he got close to Clemence, he took her hand and gave it a light kiss, in a way of thanking her, he pointed his wand and just decided to burn it to ash so she wouldn't have to smell this disgusting man.

Clémence kept looking at Gordon as he took the ring from her husband's dead body and smiled. He had obviously found what he'd been looking for. When he kissed her hand, Clémence had to smile. She screamed again when the flames covered the body. "What are you doing? They'll blame me for killing him!" Everyone who knew her, knew that she was only after money and it would make sense if she'd decided to kill her husband in order to have his gold for herself.

Gordon just gave her a smile, taking care of the ashes now, as he looked at her calmly. "Your husband left, was found cheating on you, so he left to Constantinople for protection, there on Constantinople he was burned by mud.. by muggles for heresy, that is the official information that the wizarding council will have, his living family will try and avenge his death but halas the non-magical beings will be protected by the wizard council in Constantinople and the family sent to a jail." Gordon said, looking at her calmly, he took off his hat again as a way of salutation and put it back on, about to leave. "Next time madam.. pick someone who has better hygiene."

When the ashes were gone, Clémence gave Gordon a questioning look. She was amazed with his lie and how fast he managed to think of a perfect story. Clémence laughed and shook her head, she couldn't have thought of anything better herself. "And you will take care of everything? You are an extraordinary man, Monsieur." Clémence thought of Cornictacus; he would be so sad to hear that his uncle was murdered, but there was no way for her to help him. He would probably go to Greece, looking for his murderers. It was sad and funny at the same time. "Monsieur... will I ever see you again?" she asked, after noticing that Gordon was about to leave.

"Perhaps we will meet again madam, I do replace a friend of mine as school governor from time to time." Gordon said, as he thought about it calmly, but did she ever go to that Hogwarts school? He had no idea, it was such a dull place in his opinion, a bunch of half bloods and mudbloods, that was such an annoyance. He looked at her calmly, maybe she could join the reformed council, he shook his head, she didn't seem that kind of woman plus risking a mother wasn't something he wanted to do. He just took off his hat and bowed to her. "Or I could always send you a letter madam, but for now, I have to take my leave, I have important tasks to do."
