Alphard Valenceus is descended from Roman nobles who were descended from those priests who performed magic in Ancient Egypt. Alphard's ancestors kept their records on the family's lineage concise. Translating it to new languages that they learned as they were forced from their marvelous palaces by envious muggles. Alphard's father was exiled to Scotland for heresy. His mother was held in prison until she was eventually executed.
Alphard's father was neither mean or nice to him. He left the boy often though he was still young. Alphard's father was busy trying to assert himself as the most powerful wizard in Scotland and rouse the Muggles into fighting the Romans off the island. Alphard grew up with little guidance. He had unrestricted access to his father's library and spent the majority of his time there. Alphard eventually killed his father one day. Just to test his ability with the Avada Kedavra. Alphard took his father's claim as the most powerful wizard in Scotland. But he extended the title to include England, Wales and Ireland. He had the title written in Latin over a stone arch that lead a road to his home.
The boasting attracted the father of Professor Salazar Slytherin. They duelled but the fight ended in a draw. They re-matched a few months later and Alphard was defeated. Alphard refused to erase his title and so a group of young wizards vandalised the archway. Alphard accused Slytherin and they quarreled once more. Alphard lost again and removed his precious arch himself. It was months before he actually learned that he had actually killed Salazar's father from injuries mere hours after their final fight. Alphard did not bother rebuilding his monument. He said the ordeal taught him a valuable lesson. Alphard left the duelling league and turned instead to a political career.
Alphard then had a monument built in his honor that would eventually become his tomb. Alphard then showed interest in an heir. He married a woman who bore him a girl. He killed her and the child. He repeated this until he had slaugtered nine of his children. Alphard met a Maria, a witch from the Roman Empire like himself. She gave birth to a male, but the birth killed her. Alphard cursed his first son, Melkor. The darkest name he could think up. He gave his first name as the boy's middle name as he would to all his male children. Alphard wed a great number of witches and half-breeds/humanoids such as Veela, werewolves and Vampires much too the disgust of his wizard peers.
Alphard's tomb was completed on the very day his first son had him killed. Alphard was buried and a colony of Dementors moved to the area. The locals came up with myths that Dementors were Alphard's soul harvesters and once they collected enough souls, Alphard would return to life. But the dementors were merely a coincidence. Though it is known to some that Alphard had plans to return from death no one was aware when it would happen.
Alphard left two sons behind; Melkor Alphard Valenceus and Lyncis Alphard Valenceus. One pureblood, the other half Veela. Alphard left the majority of his wealth to the Hogwarts Founder Salazar Slytherin "to be used in the benefit of the school". Alfie(Melkor) seemingly inherited nothing at all though he was suppossed to aid in Alphard's ressurection after recieving instructions from Alphard's five remaining wives and twenty-four daughters. But when Alfie killed the only man who knew about that part of Alphard's will the women decided not to inform Alfie of his father's wishes. Lyncis had inherited a great deal of galleons. Lydia took the boy to live away from Wizard's troubles in her parent's house.
Alfie and his Council used Lydia's blood in a blood ritual overseen by blood magic specialist, Gordon Grindelwald. A ritual that Lydia has not yet recovered from. Lydia's father consented to the ritual in exchange for continued protection under the Valenceus name. Lydia's father has little Lyncis kept in the house as a prisoner. So that he may keep his connection to the wizarding world safe. Lydia has tried to escape with her son several times and is beginning to think that reviving Alphard himself is the only way to free her child.
