Helga was startled when Cornictacus's face rapidly approached hers. Her first reaction was to pull her head backwards, but when she felt his warm moist lips on hers Helga's feet turned to jelly. She found herself leaned towards him and returning his kiss. Helga was disappointed when he broke the kiss, however, the shadow of smile lingered on her lips. "It's Helga," she reminded him. She placed her hand on his and added softly, "I am not sorry you kissed me." |

Cornic just looked at her and nodded, eventually he looked at her calmly, surprised when she put her hand on his he then looked at her in the eyes, feeling a bit shy and eventually heard her say that she liked the kiss, he just kept looking at her calmly and just smiled, he couldn't help himself from smiling. "I thought you hated it... after all we just met... and you are having this effect on me... I am always lost when I look into your eyes."

"Why would I hate it?" she questioned with an easy smile. Helga gave a small nod at his next words and replied, "You are right. But I feel like I have known you my whole life." She squeezed his hand gently. Her cheeks blushed and she mumbled softly, "My eyes are not that great." She looked away feeling embarrassed. After some seconds, Helga leaned forwards and shyly pecked his lips. |

The peck on the lips made him happy, as he started kissing her once more, though maybe he should of stopped but he couldn't, he held Helga tightly in his arms not wanting to let her go but he knew he eventually had to, He just kept holding her, staying silent for a while though he just looked at her and shook his head. "Your eyes are great to me my dear... they are wonderful, I'm always in awe when I look at them, just like when I first saw you"

Helga leaned into Cornictacus, feeling safe in his arms. She pressed her cheek to his and closed her eyes for a brief moment. "Thank you. That is the nicest and most sincere thing anyone has every told me," she finally replied. |

Cornic just smiled holding her tight in his arms, he wanted to make her feel safe.. and wanted, because he knew he wanted her, he finished his butterbeer and looked at her, smiling. "Maybe I should take you home so they don't freak out.. I could... present myself as a suitor?"

After hearing his words she pulled away from his arms and looked up at Cornictacus in shock. Helga shook her head and said hurriedly, "They do not know I am here. If you escort me home, they will think the worse and never allow us to see each other ever again." His proposal of presenting himself was intriguing and it brought a smile to her lips. |

Cornictacus just looked at her and gave her a smile, though it worried him, how could he take her back home, he just looked at her for a few hours. "But I have to, I can't let you go back home all alone, it's not safe in the streets by yourself, specially not when you are this beautiful, I have to at least take you home, apparate there with you, so what's the location?" Cornic said, as he looked at her, waiting for her reply, he hold her hand and just gave it a kiss, he didn't want anything bad happening to her.

Cornictacus had a point. She could not apparate and it would be unwise of her to wander the streets on her own. She sighed and reluctantly gave him the address. "But Monsieur apparate around the corner. I do not wish for you to get in trouble with my family." She smiled as he kissed her hand and rested her head on his shoulder. |

Cornictacus smiled holding her tightly in his arms, eventually apparating away. He sometimes hated the feeling it gave. They appeared around the corner of her house like she told him to do, he looked at her and just gave her smile, pecking her lips. "Go mademoiselle, I'll see you tomorrow, I promise." Cornictacus was planning on coming back here, as a suitor this time.

Helga squeezed her eyes shut and held tightly as they disapparated. It was a very uncomfortable feeling and she decided that she did not like it all. She kissed him back and with one last smile hurried towards the house. Helga went to the back door and quietly slipped inside. Luckily, no one caught her sneaking upstairs to her room.
... The next day
The young Hufflepuff woke up as usual and went through the routine of washing herself, brushing her blonde curls and choosing an appropriate dress for breakfast with her family. She sat down next to her older brother and waited patiently for the food to be served. Halfway through breakfast her father looked up and commented, "Last night was quite beautiful for a late stroll. Don't you think so Helga dear?" She felt her cheeks turn red and without looking up from her plate said, "Quite so father."
What she did not know was that her father had seen her sneak out of the window and followed her as far as the restaurant. He knew that he could trust her and that she would not disgrace their family name, therefore chose not to disrupt her date. As they had just finished breakfast one of the servants stepped inside the dining Hall and said, "A fine young gentleman is at the door requesting a meeting with Lord and Lady Hufflepuff. And their daughter Lady Helga."
Samhuel Senior turned to face the servant and asked, "Does this gentleman have a name?" "Yes my lord. Cornictacus Leroy." Samhuel did not fail to notice that the man had not been introduced as a lord. Nonetheless, he gave a nod and said, "Show him to the parlor. We will join him in a minute." Samhuel stood up and offered his wife Artemis his hand. She took it and slowly stood up. "Do you think he is a suitor?" she asked excitedly.
Samhuel cast a knowing look in Helga's direction and replied, "I believe so my love." Helga's blush was worse than ever. Upon hearing Cornictacus's name, she had almost fainted. As her parents reached the doorway, Samhuel turned around. "Helga," he said simply. The young woman rose to her feet and quietly followed her parents inside the parlor. At first Samhuel ignored the man as he lead his wife towards the couch.
He then bowed his head slightly in the young man's direction and introduced himself. "I am Lord Samhuel Hufflepuff. This is my wife Lady Artemis Hufflepuff, of the house of Selwyn." Samhuel paused and moved to the side so that Helga was visible. "And this is our daughter Lady Helga Hufflepuff." Helga tried avoiding making eye contact with Cornictacus and courtesied when she was introduced by her father.

Cornictacus just looked at her go inside, and looked around, making sure no one saw him. He disappeared, apparating in his house, he smiled but felt nervous as he looked around preparing his clothes for tomorrow, he had to look his best after all, otherwise they'd probably refuse, he sighed, he didn't know what kind of man her father is.
The next day.
Cornictacus woke up early, putting on the best suit he could find and apparating near the Hufflepuff mansion, he was nervous but he had to do this, he had to try his luck, perhaps it would work, if not he'd come back again and try again. He sighed calmly, making sure everything was in good shape. His body had a strong look because of the treasure hunting he did specially cooking food and helping others. He made sure his hair seemed perfect and then knocked at the door, a servant arrived. "Bonjour mademoiselle, je voudrais parler avec monsieur, madame et mademoiselle Hufflepuff s'il vous plait." He said, the servant asked him for his name and he just felt his cheek blush. "Where are my manners, sorry madam I forgot to introduce myself, Cornictacus Leroy at your service."
The servant went inside and Cornictacus felt his heart beating fast, he waited for a while, until she came back and showed him the way toward the meeting. He was there earlier and waited for a few minutes, after a while he saw her father and mother, he then knew where Helga's beauty came from, but where did her kindness come from, her father seemed like a strong and wise person, as he looked at him about to say something but Cornic kept his mouth shut since it seemed like her father was ignoring him, this was perhaps a bad idea?
He then heard the man introduce himself and just gave him a respectful bow, staying in a bow but still looking at the man, he was in their eyes just a commoner so he had no real choice but to bow toward the powerful houses like them. "Enchanter de faire votre connaisance mon seigneur." Cornictacus said, giving a small look toward Helga but the fact she wasn't looking back told him she was shy or maybe they were caught, he then looked at the floor, still bowing, he had no choice but to do this it was tradition in France, he could only wait for him to ask him to break the bow. "You must be aware of why I came here my lord, I request... Helga's hand in marriage, please hear me out, I know I'm not powerful my lord, my house being nothing more than a commoners house. I'm aware that I am perhaps worthless to your eyes my lord, but my feelings for your daughter are true, I want her happiness and I wish to live my life by her side. You can torture me my lord if you wish but that will never change my feelings for her." Cornictacus said, in a bold manner, his voice was calm, but he was already expecting the worse case scenario.
French Translation: Morning, I would like to speak with Lord, Lady and Miss Hufflepuff please."
"Pleasure to meet you my lord"

Lord Hufflepuff sat down in his armchair; Lady Hufflepuff remained standing by his side with one hand over his shoulder and Helga settled himself on Samhuel's other side with her head bowed. "Stand up sir," Samhuel said familiar with the French's customs. He listened to Cornictacus with a small frown. At the Frenchman's last comment, Samhuel could not help but smile slightly. He leaned forwards in his seat and said, "I see no reason to torture you young man. I see no lies in your words." Samhuel turned his head slightly and looked up at his daughter. Helga shied away from his gaze and turned a bright red. For Lord Hufflepuff that was an enough confirmation of her feelings for the young man before him. Samhuel turned back to Cornictacus and said, "I never make haste decisions when it comes to my children." |

Cornictacus just stood up, and bowed his head slightly looking back at Helga's father, he was a wise man, also seemed strong and terrifying, he just listened, how come he was so gentle he nodded calmly. "I understand my lord." Cornic just looked at him and then at Helga, wondering what he has to wait for, if he would ever give her hand to a commoner like him. He looked back at the lord and remained silent, waiting for his ultimate decision.
