Lily sighed as she followed Sirius into the forest. She never liked it, dark and the animals had always scared her, or at least made her feel uncomfortable. "Lumos!" she whispered and lit her wand. Cursing Salazar for his stubbornness, she kept following Sirius deeper and deeper into the woods, hoping they'd be able to come back.

Sirius knew the way of the forest, as he walked deeper and deeper into it, his wand in hand, emitting some light, as well as Lily's it seemed, she was given a new wand until she could get her old one back, he finally found the spot, and took his wand lifting a couple of items, changing them with magic what he did was really rare and complex magic, as he opened a door to a small house that was just created, there was a bed there and he looked at Lily.
"Go in, I'll sleep outside." Sirius said, giving her a warm smile, he knew that she might be afraid of here, Slytherin students weren't quite known for their courage.

Lily was trying to keep up with Sirius, but it was harder than expected. Every now or then she'd get stuck or bump her head on a branch. She saw him stop and she followed him to the spot where he'd made a small yet functional house for them to spend the night in. "You can come inside too, there's enough room for both of us." Lily answered with a smile. Sirius was a Gryffindor and therefore, unlike her, he wasn't afraid to sleep outside.

"It's alright don't worry, there is just one bed, you can use it, I'll sleep outside I don't mind." He smiled at her, going out of the house and sitting on the ground, he took his wand out creating a fire in front of him so it could be a bit warmer around here, he just stood there for a while observed by the creatures of the forest he just closed his eyes and eventually, did what he usually did when he was in the forest, he sometimes felt like he was home when he was in the forest, felt like it was his place, he loved the different creatures, he started singing, he even had a good voice for singing, which was quite odd for a head boy like him who always looked like a hard worker."The castle is lit, with candles and torches, The carriages of the nobles arrive in front, The smell of splendor and decadence" There was a few second pause as Sirius was caressing a thestrals head, the young creature heard the voice and approached. "And nobody can foresee, The masters and the mistress are walking through the hall, They are smiling, laughing and showing that they are tall, They don't recognize that we're waiting there, And just nobody can foresee." [/color] He was good with his singing, it made him feel more different then the boy he was, he seemed so shy around others but while singing he seemed more sure of himself. "This is the last night of the kings Sirius kept patting the Thestral who seemed to have nestled against him. "We are the folk, And we have the right, To stand up and to fight, For an independent life, We are the force, We are the might, And we will stand up, For an independent life." Sometimes he was hitting on the ground with his hand, making some sound, completely lost in his song. It usually happened, just like when he was doing homeworks. The ball has begun and we're closing our trap, Inwardly we're gathering ourselves, While the dance comes to higher pace, Still nobody can foresee. His voice changed completely, showing more passion as he was still singing, caressing the Thestral, this animal was like his companion, he was always the same thestral that would come and see him. Joining the circle, in black robes unknown, Unsheathing our swords and get ready to dance Our hearts are filled with the will to survive, In this last night of their life, It's a murderous, murderous ball night.
We are the folk, And we have the right, To stand up and to fight for an independent life, We are the force, We are the might And we will stand up, For an independent life."
[/b] He eventually got out of his singing trance, still caressing the thestral while looking at the fire and sometimes at the sky, he seemed rather peaceful in the forest, specially after singing a song.(Here's the link for the song in case you're curious www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt4CQc1MSso&feature=player_embedded )

Lily entered the small house Sirius had built and sat on the bed. She felt so strange, sitting in a house, in the middle of the forrest, with the weirdest person she'd ever met. Lily closed her eyes and laid down on the bed, hoping that none of the animals would come anywhere near.
When Sirius started singing, Lily opened her eyes and sat on the bed. He seemed to be good at it, he had a gentle, yet passionate singing voice. She had to admitt that she found his singing enjoyable, even though she didn't like music very much and she herself couldn't sing. He is so strange. Lily thought as he kept singing and she kept listening to the sound of his voice.

Sirius kept patting the thestral, probably what seemed to be his only friend, he remained silent for a while, not sure on what to do, he sighed calmly."What a weird day this has been." He said to himself as he stood there, he sometimes looked toward the house, it seemed silent so it probably meant that she was sleeping.

Sirius suddenly stopped singing. Lily stood up and walked to the door. She hoped that he was fine, that nothing had happened to him, because she didn't know what she'd do without him, all alone in the forest and without her wand. Lily stood just inches away from the door, trying to pick any sound. Sirius seemed to be whispering something, as if he was talking to somebody. Hoping that someone had come to bring them back to the castle, Lily opened the door and got out of the small house. Sirius was outside, patting something Lily couldn't see, so she guessed it was thestral, or the boy had simply lost his mind. "Are you cold out there?" she asked, knowing how stupid her question was, since he'd lit the fire to keep him warm.

Sirius heard her as he looked around, patting the thestral on the head letting it go, eventually it brushed against Lily's leg, sniffing her, like if it wanted to know if this was a foe or a friend, he just looked at her calmly then at the thestral calling it back. "It's well just a bit cold.. fire isn't making much of a difference."

Lily shivered when something that she couldn't see touched her leg. It has to be a thestral... she thought, but didn't move, hoping that the animal wouldn't hurt her. Lily didn't know much about thestrals because she was never particularly good at Care of Magical Creatures. "Well it's a bit lighter..." she said and shrugged, crossing her arms. "So you actually talk to them?" Lily asked with a small frown.

"Yes I do, this thestral always visits me when I'm in the forest, he just needs to hear me singing and he knows I'm there." Sirius said, looking back at Lily, he could see it, since he had an accident where he killed muggles, he wasn't sure if he would share this to her of course.

Lily just kept looking at Sirius. "And does he talk back to you?" she asked teasingly and laughed. "Or maybe he sings to you?" Lily moved a bit closer to Sirius. "I can't see them, you know. I wish I could..." she said with a small shrug.

"To see them, you must have seen someone die, that's why, sadly they are misunderstood creatures." Sirius said, he looked away calmly, but still patted the head of the Thestral, smiling he looked back at her. "I think you're better off, not seeing them."

"Yes, I know." Lily answered, her eyes focused on Sirius. "Well they're just different, that's why they're misunderstood. If you're different, you can never actually be quite popular." Lily shrugged and looked away, trying to figure out where the Thestral might be. "They are simply different. Like you, or me." Lily smiled back at Sirius. "So what do they look like? The Thestrals?" she asked.

"Hard to say really a breed of winged horses with a skeletal body and a face that looks a bit reptilian, see told you it was a hard to really explain, you'd have to see it, but I hope you don't see it, they are marvelous creatures, but seeing someone die, isn't good." He said, as he sighed calmly, it wasn't the best of things, he didn't wish something like that to happen to anyone. He just gave her a warm smile.

Lily kept staring at Sirius, trying to imagine what the creatures looked like. "It is hard to imagine them." Lily shrugged, still thinking about Thestrals and death. "Well they seem interesting." she said after awhile. "So, you've seen someone die?" she asked, even though she'd already known the answer to the question. It was quite obvious, if he could see them.
