Zac stood, on the lawns. He gazed out into the distance wishing he'd brought his broom out with him. He loved to fly, it relaxed him. Sighing he turned around. He walked to one of the benches, and sat, then slouched over and rested his elbows on his knees. He looked at the grass beneath him for a moment. Then sat back, he streched out, pulling his arms up behind his head, then held them behind his head.
He sighed, and sat up, he pulled out his notepad, from his bag, and a quill. He jotted down a few flying technigues and such. He liked to create new formations and ideas that would help in a game of quidditch. Finishing his notes, he put the pad away. Shaking his head, he let his almost shoulder length hair, fall onto his face. He wasn't sure if he should get it cut or not, it was getting a little bothersome.
Zac smiled, and ran a hand through his hair, He stood and walked to the lake, he stood by the edge, staring at the surface. He kept thinking about whether or not he should go back and get his broom. Turning again, he started jogging towards the castle, but was not looking at where he was going, and ended up running into someone, knocking them over. "Oh dear, I am so sorry" he apologised, holding his hand out to help the person up. "I'm Zac" he said smiling.

Bahyia was lying face up on her four poster bed staring at the ceiling thinking about absolutely nothing. Her eyes were blank and detached and she was not even breathing. Being on her own had its advantages. It meant she didn't need to work hard to fit and look like one of the others. That's what Professor Gryffindor expected of her. Bahyia could not understand why he had chosen her maybe because she was a peculiar breed and not any normal common half vampire. No one in school knew about her except for the founders and Ambrosia who could smell her tainted scent.
All of a sudden she bolted into an upright position and jumped off the bed. Bahyia reached for a textbook and walked slowly to the common room. To her dismay there were several first years, who instantly started shaking when they saw her. Bahyia had never done anything to them but her dark look intimidated most. She sighed softly to herself and instead of sitting in her favourite spot she stepped out of the common room. Bahyia had half a mind to go to the library, but she knew that would only invoke another similar reaction.
In the end she opted to go outside. It was more spacious, therefore more opportunity to find a nice spot where she could be alone. As soon as she stepped into the sunshine, Bahyia wrinkled her nose in distaste. She didn't like the feel of the sun on her skin. The Gryffindor opened her book and started reading and walking forwards at the same time. She was barely half way when someone slammed into her. Bahyia hardly felt the impact and at first she remained erect.
Bahyia remembered that any other normal girl would have toppled backwards. So with a very much delayed action, she let herself fall. Her let the book slip from her hands and it fell to the ground with a soft thud. Bahyia looked up and saw one of her own house. She took his hand and stood back up while replying, "I know who you are." Bahyia had an excellent memory and she knew the name of all the students.
She looked down at their hands which were still entwined and pulled back her cold one. Bahyia tugged it under her arms and tilted her head to the side. She offered Zac a smile which didn't even look like a smile and said, "I'm Bahyia."

Zac looked embarrassed, but smiled all the same. A pink tone was creeping onto his cheeks as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Oh" he said simply. "Bahyia. That's a nice name" he said contemplatingly. He noticed that her reaction to his bumping into her was slow, but didn't comment on it. "Your in gryffindor right?" he asked, he could vaguely remember her from her looks.
He frowned slightly as his skin registered her cold temperature. "Are you cold?" he asked, concerned, he knew it was not a good thing to be cold. He kneeled down and picked up her book, before passing it to her, after she let go of his hand "If you are you could borrow my jumper" he said, politely, Zachary had been taught to have good manners and be considerate of others.

Her eyes narrowed slightly. Was he complimenting her? she thought to herself. Bahyia found that interesting and almost pleasing. She wasn't used to compliments or kind words. Bahyia finally gave a small nod and replied, "Yes I am. Fourth year and you?" Bahyia almost cursed loudly when he commented about her cold hands. She should have known better and not allowed any physical contact with this boy.
Bahyia was glad that he seemed to think she was feeling cold. Something that brought a smile to her lips. Bahyia was immune to cold or heat, however she could feel the sun's rays on her skin. At least today she was decently dressed. Bahyia enjoyed going around in shorts and shirts, but today she had her Gryffindor robes on. "Uh-huh? Yes, but my hands are always cold. They seem to refuse to warm up," she lied convincingly.
She thought he was being sweet in offering her his jumper. Bahyia shook her head and said, "That wouldn't be fair to you. I'm sure I will be fine." She paused and thought of a normal response to say. "Perhaps I should buy some woolen gloves from Hogsmeade," she finally said. Bahyia hated wool. It had a prickly feel to it.

Zac, just smiled at her, he didn't catch her eyes narrowing. He had looked away."I'm a Seventh year" he replied to her question. He ran his hands through his long hair again, "and I'm a gryffindor" he said after awhile "Though I think you already knew that" he said looking to her for conformation. He was complementing her, when he said that he liked her name. He thought she was quite pretty yet that there was a strange mystery to her.
Zac returned her smile, "Ahh, alright, most people find that in the winter, their hands always seem chilly" he said still smiling. He sighed and smiled gently "It's not a bother too me, I'm alright in the cold, probably comes from flying so much" He smiled at her "Plus my jumper will be far to big for you, and the sleeves with most likely cover your hands" Zac pulled his jumper over his head. Leaving him in a long sleeved cotton shirt.
Zac could be pretty persistent "Please, it would make me feel better that you weren't cold" he said softly, holding out the jumper. "Perhaps you should, but wool gloves are no good if they get wet" he reasoned, he found leather gloves were the best, they kept your hands warm and kept any rain, snow or ice out.

Hmm a seventh year. Bahyia had figured that much since she had thought he looked older than seventeen. Her eyes followed his movement as he passed a hand through his hair. Bahyia leaned slightly forwards and watched him with an odd expression on her face. She smiled at his next words and replied, "Yes I knew. I saw you around the common room."
Bahyia was pleased that he was buying her story and only nodded her head in response to him. She looked taken aback when he stripped off his jumper and handed it to her. This boy was too nice. She wondered if there was something else behind his words. She reached out for the jumper and hugged it to her chest. Bahyia smiled up at him and said genuinely, "Thank you. No one has ever been this nice to me."
Although she was not cold, she didn't want to offend him therefore she pulled the jumper over his head. Bahyia glanced down at her torso and sleeves and giggled softly to herself. She pressed the sleeves to her nose and inhaled deeply. "You have a nice scent," she commented. Bahyia looked up and corrected herself by saying, "I mean cologne."

Zac smiled at her. " I thought so" he commented gently. He ran a hand though his hair, a little habit of his, especially as it was getting pretty long. He held his hand on his bicep, while he looked at her. He licked his lips quickly as they were starting to chap. "I think I have seen you around, but you seem to keep to yourself" he said thoughtfully. His brow furrowed in thought. Zac was really surprised, "No one" he blinked. "Why wouldn't someone be nice to you?" he asked. "You seem like a really decent person." he was in a state of disbelief.
"Why" He asked again, then shook his head, shaking himself out of his shock. He was glad to have been able to do something nice for her, even if it was simply offering her a jumper. He smiled at her sweetly. Zac was a sweet boy, and pretty helpful.Laughing with her, he smiled. "Thanks, I guess" He rubbed the back of his neck, his face turning pink again. In his embarrassment, he had missed her stumble over her words. He glanced around, "So.. why were you coming out here?" He asked curiously. He smiled at her again.

Bahyia tilted her head to the side and continued to observe him. As Zachary wet his lips the vampire wondered what human lips feel like. She was used to her own granite ones and had never kissed anyone. Bahyia wasn't the type of vampire to seduce her victims; she preferred a clean unemotional kill. Her thoughts moved on to his words and decided he was being too nice. Others would have said she was odd and not that she kept to herself.
Her compliment... or what she had thought to be a compliment, seemed to distress Zac and she suddenly wondered if she had used the right words. When she realised that he was distressed by the actual words i.e that no one was ever nice to her, Bahyia looked surprised. His next words caught her off guard and her eyes widened slightly. Bahyia had never thought of herself as decent. She was a monster.
The Gryffindor smiled slightly when he saw his blush. She wondered how that happened and wanted to touch his cheek to see if it burned. Realising that would not be such a good idea, she folded her hands behind her back and kept her eyes on him. "You're welcome," she said with a light chuckle. Bahyia pursed her lips at his question and finally replied flatly, "I wanted to find a quiet spot to read."
She was no expert with conversations, especially with her peers. Bahyia brought her hands back to the front and stared down at the cover of her book before finally asking, "What were you doing out here? Were you on your way inside when we bumped?"

Zachary never thought that anyone could be too nice, yes they could be too annoyingly fake nice but honestly being nice, was something he liked. He watched her intently. He was surprised and almost shocked, when she was surprised at his comment "Has anyone ever bothered to get to know you?" he asked concerned, he felt bad that he had not met her before now. He had heard a few comments in the common room, ones that weren't so kind and he had stayed away from, he never did like gossip it had a nasty way of biting you in the butt. But how could someone judge without knowing. She looked so full of self hate, but he couldn't work out why.
Zac smiled back at her, and even chuckled along with her. "Ahh. So that's what the book was for" he said rather stupidly. "I suppose I stopped you from finding that reading place" he said slowly. "Just thinking really, about all sorts. I was heading back to fetch my broom, but was coming back out, I like to fly in my spare time" he commented lightly. "I'm sorry about bumping into you again" he apologised for the second time.

Her eye brows furrowed slightly and Bahyia shook her head in response. Only her aunt Lysa ever bothered. She had saved her from her brother, but aunt Lysa was still weary and slightly afraid of Bahyia's nature. If her own family was afraid of her, she couldn't blame others for feeling the same way.
Bahyia smiled at his comment and nodded. She showed him the book, which was about magical creatures. When he started talking about broomsticks and flying, Bahyia looked interested. "I never flew. How does it feel like?" she asked curiously. Bahyia tilted her head and shook her head when he apologised. "Its fine. Neither of us are hurt."

Zac looked even more shocked, as she shook her head. "Thats horrible, not even our fellow Gryffindors? Not a single one?" He knew that Hufflepuff, were known for there loyalty, but he felt that the students in Gryffindor should look out for each other. He sighed and smiled at her gently.
Now Zac was shocked for a different reason, he lived to fly. That was his passion. "You've never flown. Not even once?" he asked, then smiled "Its amazing, I love the feel of the wind as it runs through my hair." He paused "I liked the thrill" He smiled at her. "I guess" he said running a hand through his hair. "What do you do? If you don't fly you must have some other hobbies?" he asked her.

Bahyia tipped her head to the side and said, "No. They seem to dislike me the most." She paused and offered Zachary a small smile, "Well. Them and Slytherins." She felt amused by Zac. He seemed to be constantly shocked by her words. She shook her head and said slowly, "Never." She leaned towards him and listened to his explanation with a smile. "It sounds amazing," she finally said. Bahyia looked thoughtful. She didn't have any real hobbies. In the end she said, "I read. A lot."

Zac frowned. He was disapointed in his fellow Gyrffindors. "Pfft" he started "How can they dislike you if they don't even know you?" he asked, but it was a rhetorical question and wasn't expecting an answer. Zacs facial expression lightened slightly, and he chuckled "The Slytherins hate all Gryffindors" he said then paused "Well most Slytherins, not all of them follow the status quo." he said thoughtfully.
Zac raised his eyebrows. "May I ask. Why?" surely she must have been on a broom at one stage. He lived for flying and quidditch but he knew that itwas not everybodys cup of tea and that some people disliked heights. "If you want I could take you up for a ride?" he asked then added "or I could even teach you how to play quidditch - thats if you wanted of course". He smiled at her. "It is, I love it" he then said "I should have guessed really" he said in a slightly teasing tone, but a friendly tone nonetheless, he guestered wildly to the book in her arms.

"That is a good observation," she commented lightly. Not many people followed that philosophy. For most eyes she was the odd looking girl with odd behaviour; and that seemed enough to keep them from bothering to even smile. Bahyia did not care most days, but sometimes she craved for the interaction with her peers. "Hmm..." she said in response to his words about Slytherins. She gave a nod and added, "You're right. One doesn't have to be a Slytherin to be a superficial mean snob."
His question was very good indeed. Bahyia had no idea why she had never tried a broom. Despite the urban legend of vampires turning into bats; Bahyia did not like the idea of a flying vampire, especially if it was her. She shrugged and replied honestly, "I don't know. I just never did." Her eyes widened at his proposal and a small smile appeared on his face. Her first instinct was to refuse. Bahyia rapidly changed her mind and replied, "That would be great. Thank you Zachary."
Bahyia looked down at the book and then back up at Zachary. She laughed lightly and replied, "That obvious, huh?" The young vampire clutched the book tighter to herself and whispered softly, "I also like muggle books. They are not so very different from ours. Only weird names and problems that cannot be solved with magic." She gave a small nod, more to herself than him and stared down at her feet.

Zachary nodded, he was quite pleased with his idea, "People can be really prejudice some times" he said softy, he found prejudging someone was a harsh thing, he wouldn't like the be prejudged, so why should he judge others. He didn't make judgments on anyelses views but from his own. Not many of his friends shared his views though, which in a way saddened him. That was how it was meant to be, was it not. Zachary smiled at her.
When a thought hit him, he mentally rolled his eyes at himself. I could have summoned my broom, rather than walked to get it. At her acceptance of his offer, he grabbed his bag, and pulled out his wand. "Accio broom" he cast. He waited till he could see a broom come flying towards him. When it was close enough he reached out and grabbed it, not wanting it to him, and make him look like an idiot. He held out his hand, to help her on, before he climbed on.
Zachary nodded at her, smiling a little amused. "It was a little obvious" he stated gently, "Really? Thats cool" he said with a smile, Zachary had read a few muggle books, coming from a halfblood family it tended to help if you ould fit in, in both communitys. Especially the muggle one, it was pretty dangerous to be found out about being able to do magic. "Its quite impressive really, we have it quite easy compared to them" he said smiling.
