One reason Morgana had moved closer to Hogwarts last year was so that she would not be too far if her youngest needed her. She had made Meggy promise to visit her whenever she was allowed to. She was within her potions shop, pretending to care that everyone that passed didn't come in to buy things as she awaited Meggy's arrival.
Morgana got up and walked over to the front window of the shop and peered out and down the dirt road. She craned her neck in an attempt to see farther. She had not seen Mavado for some time. He might have been missing but she hardly cared much. She had admittedly grown bored of him long ago.

Meggy missed her mother. Morgana had made her promise to visit whenever she was allowed to, but in truth the child often sneaked out of the castle without telling anyone. And this day was no different. She was dressed in her mother's favourite outfit with hair pulled from her face with a hair band. Morgana was skipping happily down the road leading to Hogsmeade. She was very excited at the idea of seeing her mother again and maybe even her father. When her mother's shop loomed into view, Meggy broke into a grin and started running faster towards the shop waving her hands in the air. She pushed the door open and stumbled inside with a huge smile on her face. Her eyes lit up at the sight of Morgana Sr and the girl ran straight in her arms. Meggy looked up and said, "Mother! How good to see you. I have missed you a lot."

At the sight of her youngest daughter, Morgana smiled brightly. The younger Morgana was not nearly as prized as Mrs. Gorlois' first-born. And strangely was not alike to anyone else in the immediate family, but was in Mrs. Gorlois' favor nonetheless.
"I've missed you as well. How are you doing in school?" Morgana smiled at her youngest. Doing her best to keep such morbid thoughts as murder and infidelity from her head. She had been idle her at the town of Hogsmeade. She craved for the excitement of Knockturn Alley and London. Yet she had a child to keep happy. "Very good, I would guess."

Morgana pulled back from her mother's arms and looked up at her with a huge grin. She was glad to hear that her mother had missed her as well. "I like Hogwarts," she stated with a smile. Meggy went to sit down on a stool and offered, "I made a new friend. She's in Gryffindor." Morgana paused and held her breath, waiting for her mother's reaction. The second year had to bring up Odette, especially because she would soon sharing their plans with her mother hoping she would help them.

Morgana never let slip that felt a slight betrayed that her daughter that shared her name had been denied entry to Slytherin's House. Although Morgana never blamed Salazar himself. She knew that he had his reasons. Even if Morgana was not ready to face them at the moment. Though the truth of her relation to her baby girl weighed on her mind.
"Gryffindor? Known for his brawn not his brains. No doubt she could make a useful pawn for you." Morgana pet her daughter's head softly. "Nevermind that, how are your Potions scores? Show me."

Her face fell and she stared down at her feet sadly. She should have known her mother would say something of the sorts. As she was patted Meggy gave a small nod and muttered, "Yes mother." Her head whipped up when her mother mentioned potions. She shuffled her feet uncomfortable before finally handing her mother the report card she had brought with her. "I was distracted when we were doing the Swelling Potion. I swear I did not mean to enlarge Professor Slytherin's nose." Morgana paused and gulped loudly.

Morgana frowned. She hated when Meggy was sulky about what Morgana spoke. They were pure blood and related to the greatest witches and wizards past and present. There was no reason for Meggy to behave so shamefully.
Morgana's mood changed when she heard of Meggy's potion mishap. She did her best to hide her pleasure at the news even turning away from Meggy. "Your studies are important, Morgana. I do not tolerate mistakes, you'll become like your sister. Always sulking and no friends."

The young Gaunt looked up at her mother and as she listened to her chastising words, Meggy felt ashamed of herself. "I am truly sorry. It will never happen again," she said looking sincerely apologetic. Morgana could not understand why her mother disapproved of Kat, however she would never dare question her mother.

Morgana drifted around the counter in her shop. She gazed across it watching her daugter closely. She knew how different she was from the child. It was going to be difficult pretending to be someone else for any longer. "Come here. I made your favorite stew." Morgana picked a metallic bowl from a pile of newly cleaned dishes and utensils. She scooped out a bit of the stew from a great cauldron. Morgana placed the serving of stew on the opposite side of the counter in front of her. She then leaned against the counter and stared at Meggy with a frown. She wondered how much Meggy knew about her. "Were you hungry?" Morgana asked the question with a smile.

Morgana watched her mother walk away and sighed softly to herself. She kept her back straight and a blank expression on her face knowing that Morgana Senior was watching her. Meggy obeyed when her mother asked her to go to her. She sat down quietly and waited patiently until her mother placed the stew in front of her. She picked the utensils and looked up at her mother. Meggy smiled at her and said, "Of course mother." The girl leaned forwards with her eyes closed and said, "It smells good."

Morgana stood up straight again and stepped back to the wall behind her and leaned against it as she stared at Meggy almost unblinkingly. "What have you and your friends been up to?" Morgana asked the question as a demand. She remembered Meggy saying something about a friend earlier. Morgana had already forgot how she had responded to it. Morgana was beginning to wonder if Hogwarts was fit for Meggy with so much dirty blood. She had even heard of a few members of the staff being less than pure.

Morgana had barely downed two spoonfuls of stew when her mother started asking questions. Meggy looked up at her sadly and said, "Odette is my only friend." She sighed and started toying wit her food before adding, "The others do not like me. Because they are afraid of what Damien or Kat might do or say to them." Morgana dropped her spoon and looked squarely at Morgana Senior. "Mother why does everyone dislike me?"

Morgana scowled at Meggy's words. Her eyes grew fiery at the mention of Damien and Kat. Kat, Morgana had started calling her that. The useless child hated it, either because Morgana started it or because of her full name's meaning. Morgana had always meant to do something about those two but had not yet got around to it. She was quite annoyed to hear that the two were causing problems for Meggy. Even as slight as the problems were. They were failures and had no right to harm Meggy's image. Morgana's hands trembled as she rubbed her temples angrily. "I don't think people hate you. They're probably just scared of you, honey. Don't you like that feeling?" Morgana smiled as though it were nothing to ask something like this.

"Do you really think so?" the child asked hopefully. Meggy would rather think that the others feared her rather than hated her. On the other hand, she had never given anyone reasons to hate her. Morgana gave a small shrug and admitted softly, "I... think it's a nice feeling." Meggy slid off the chair and approached her mother cautiously. The young Ravenclaw sat down on her lap and asked, "Mother can you teach me how to protect myself? I don't like the pain much." Her last sentence was more of a whisper, as if Morgana didn't want her mother to know what had happened.

Morgana was still annoyed that Meggy had to worry about her reputation. Morgana really wanted to curse someone. But at the same time, didn't want to worsen Meggy's situation. Morgana pet the child as it approached her. Though she went absolutely livid at what Meggy asked. "Hmm. Protect yourself? But that is what men are for, dear." Morgana had truthfully never lifted a finger to defend herself from physical harm. Though admittedly she never had to worry about it. "Mmm. Let me think. You know Protego, correct?" Morgana sighed angrily. She grabbed Meggy and spun her around. She glared at her youngest, "Alsciaukat didn't put that thought in your head, did she?" Morgana grabbed Meggy's arms. "You should go try to get a boyfriend who knows his magic. Try for a Slytherin boy. Make sure he's older than you. Keep yourself looking pretty for him and please him however he likes. He will protect you. Understand?"
