Corni was injured, in his own shop, eyes closed, he seemed dead but wasn't, his heart was beating a bit slowly, but he was still alive, he held on to life, refusing to die. Helga told him to spy on this Viktor kid that kept coming here, talking to his assistant, he did that, he never expected the kid to come in when he would be alone and shoot a couple of stupefy spell and then the crucio, how the pain hurt, made him go numb until he lost consciousness, his shop was damaged, fire at some places, it wouldn't be long till he dies in this fire, however he felt that someone picked him up and ran. Sirius the second assistant came just in time as the building fell down because of the fire, the young student wrote a letter first, to Helga and Rowena about Corni's condition and where they could meet the man, as he apparated in London, approaching a weird house, he knocked at it and a tiny witch told him to come in, which he did, he put Corni in a bed, he knew this witch would take care of him and heal the injuries, he looked at him for a while before apparating away, Corni would be in better hands and watchful eyes when the two founders would arrive.

Rowena was running down the stairs, towards Helga's office with a piece of parchment in her hands. She'd been so worried about her best friend, since she'd read the letter; Helga was the last person in the world to deserve the pain. Rowena quickly walked down the corridor on the second floor, passing by the Hospital Wing. Maybe we could both use some pain-killing potion? she thought. Rowena finally reached Helga's office and stopped at the door, to catch her breath. Hoping she wasn't the one to bring Helga bad news, Rowena knocked on her friends door and entered the office.

The small owl looked up at Sirius and took flight. It could almost understand the importance of the letter it was carrying and knew he had to fly as fast as possible. It made his way towards Hogwarts and flew directly towards Helga's quarters. The owl landed on the edge of the window and peered inside the room. Helga was perched on the floor in front of the fireplace correcting assignments. Outside, the owl puffed out its small chest and started tapping its beak loudly against the window pane.
Helga instantly turned around and when she spotted the owl stood up and hurried to open the window. The owl hopped inside the cosy room and extended its leg. It waited patiently until Helga took the note and then took off. The young woman unrolled the parchment and started reading. After the first sentence, the rest of the words did not make any sense. Cornictacus was injured. She crouched to the ground and buried her face in her hands.
Helga didn't even look up when someone knocked on the door and opened it. She started rocking gently back and forth as tears streamed down her face. Helga blamed herself. When Salazar suggested Cornictacus for their plan she had resisted but eventually gave in, knowing that her fiance would find the challenge intriguing. And now he was hurt.

Rowena ran across the room and hugged her best friend. She gently tapped her on the back, almost crying herself. Rowena of all people knew how Helga felt; seeing a loved one hurt or dead was the worst thing that anyone could experience. "Oh, Helga, darling... he'll be fine. He's been injured, but at least he's still alive." Rowena gently caressed her friend's light curls. "He'll be fine and he needs you by his side. I know how hard it is, but you have to be strong, my dear."

Helga started shuddering and she looked up at Rowena with a tear stained face. She held tightly onto her friend and continued to sob quietly. She was afraid of going to him. What if Rowena was wrong? What if he died? Helga couldn't bare the thought. Yet again Rowena was right. He needed her. She wiped her tears on the back of her sleeves and slowly stood up. With one hand on her stomach she said in a quavering voice, "I need to go to him."

Rowena nodded her head and stood up, following her friend. "I'll go with you, you don't have to go through that on your own." Rowena pulled her wand out and conjured a handkerchief, which she handed to Helga. "Come on, dear, he wouldn't want to see you crying, would he?" Rowena gave Helga a small, comforting smile. "He'll be fine, with you by his side he'll recover in a matter of days."

Helga thanked Rowena and took the handkerchief from her. She dried the corners of her eyes and then collapsed into her friend's arms. "I shouldn't have let him go." She paused and sniffled loudly. "It must have been that Lorrein boy. You and Monsieur Slytherin were right all along." Helga felt very stupid and naive. She knew she was often too kind with others and gave them more trust than they deserve, but she could have never imagined one of their students to act so inappropriately.

Rowena gently tapped Helga's back. "It's not your fault, my dear, he decided to do it on his own. There was nothing you could do to change his mind. You know what he is like, always looking for a new adventure." Rowena frowned at the mention of Viktor's name. "I hoped we were wrong about it, but now I'm afraid that we were right. But what worries me the most is that he's only a child, a student. How for Merlin's sake, is he able to perform so powerful dark magic?" Rowena made a pause, still looking at Helga. "He ought to be punished for what he did, he ought to be expelled and sent away."

Helga threw herself in Rowena's arm and sobbed quietly. "I never understood his passion for adventures." She straightened herself and braced her arms around her body. Helga turned to look at Rowena. Her eyes widened and she gave a nod. At the mention of punishing the boy she looked up at her sheepishly and said, "Or maybe we could have a talk with him? Before deciding anything."

Rowena gently hugged her dear friend. "Oh, darling, we never understand those we love... not entirely, at least, no matter how hard we tried..." There were many things Rowena didn't understand about her husband and even more things she couldn't understand about Alfie, but maybe it was the inability to fully understand them that made them worthy of her attention. Rowena let out a heavy sigh, it was Helga she knew and loved, Helga who cared about every living creature, always trying to find something good in anybody. "I would like to have a word with him, but he seems to have disappeared, he's nowhere to be found."

Helga gave a nod and held tightly onto Rowena. Her friend was right, they could never truly fully understand their loved ones. Helga pulled back from Rowena and braced her arms around her body. "He's only a child Rowena. We have to find him and help him," she said softly. Helga looked genuinely worried for the boy, even though he had just badly injured her fiance.

Rowena gave Helga a slightly patronizing look and sighted. Helga was probably the only person in the world who would try helping someone who'd injured her loved one. It was almost unbelievable, odd and it was simply Helga. "There are some people who just can't be helped, my dear." she said patiently, as if she was talking to a particularly sensitive child. "But we will do everything we can and try to help the boy." Rowena added, hoping her words would please her friend.

Helga's face darkened and she looked away from Rowena almost in tears. She knew her friend couldn't understand why she was willing to help the boy, but it was who she was and Helga couldn't and didn't want to change it. At Rowena's last words she looked back at her. Her eyes lit up and she smiled at Rowena. Helga hugged her for a brief moment and said, "Thank you." She pulled away and strapped her travelling cloak around her shoulders. "Cornictacus needs us," she said softly.

Rowena was taken aback a little by Helga's hug. Yet, she returned her friend's smile and straightened her dress a bit; she was already wearing her dark-blue travelling cloak. Rowena was still against Helga's ideas of helping Viktor, she herself would rather cast a Cruciatus curse at him, but they had more important issues at hand. Rowena nodded her head and opened the door for her friend. "Shall we?" she asked gently, knowing Helga was eager to see her fiance.

Helga gave a nod and stepped out of her quarters. She walked beside Rowena in silence and only stopped when they were standing outside the gate. She looked up at her friend frantically and asked, "Did the note say where he is?" Her cheeks reddened slightly. She had been in shock after reading the first sentence and remembered little of the rest.
